55gal Stand and tank build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I measure the whole body from the end of the caudal fin to the front of the mouth.

Unless they're big enough to eat the smaller ones I doubt you'll have any issues with an 1" difference.

Ok. Hopefully they wont be an issue. I will upload some pictures later.

Major Update. So on frinday i visisted the LFs like described and then kept the fish over the weeked in a 5 gal bucket. Everything went smoothly and now then are in the tank (no Qt, shame on me!) They are quite a bit bigger than the originals but no fighting yet (knock on wood). The new ones are 2 pure yellows, a blue and a grayish one (i cleaned them out) I was kind of disappointed with their selection but i got them for $5 ea. And the biggest is about 3.5 inches. I was going to measure my CL but he would not come out. Here are some pictures. I know that they are prob. not pure but could you take a chance and try to identify them? Thanks

I wanted to start researching other filters so down the road when i need more filtration i will already have what i want in mind. So what, in addition to my aqueon 55 will be good. Feel free to suggest eBay knock offs as well. Criteria: QUIET, cheap, cheap cartridges

Aquaclear 110 for HOB, theres nothing better. Price is around $60 shipped on ebay. A local store near me even has them for $50.

For canister, rena XP3 its around $120 on ebay, and is great.

Tank looks great BTW, but cant help you out on the fish id's im not an african expert.

Im sure someone will shed light on it though!

So my background was looking great up until yesterday. Now the whole thing has an air bubble between it and the glass. It is making the tank look cloudy. Any ideas on how to re-apply it? I used a little water the first time but should i try it again. Need simple fix!
