What is your ISO setting? Looks high.

good pic, nice and sharp! you getting the hang of it :) but picture is a little noisey, due to the high ISOs. maybe try and find a speedlight on craigslist in time for your trip?

I'm going to break out my flash this weekend and see what I can do, you guys have inspired me.

Looking forward to this.

+1 With Jcardona. Yes you are getting the hang of things, well done. Try ISO 200-800 with a slower shutter speed of 1/10-1/60.

Really interesting thread.. I'm new to photography as well..

I'm stuck in a similar situation as you, i can't figure out if i should get a nikkor micro or the sb600 or 2x yn460 speelite.

speedlight for sure! although i dont know much outside of the nikon brand of speedlights :)

yea the iso setting on that was 1600, ill try turning down the iso a bit, i just get worried at lower shutter speeds that my pix arent coming out sharp :nilly:

also thanks everybody, i never thought of craigslst, just searched nikon and this popped up, if i didnt just get my cam id be all over this,
