Key word there is "US".
Too many people L.O.V.E., love, this hobby way too much to share it with a significant other.
You see posts all the time where somebody
wants to hang/shoot/torture/mame their Boyfriend/Girlfriend/Mom/Dad/brother/sister, or what ever, for the silliest things that happen when they trust a feeding or something while they are away. I'm afraid anybody they ever find, that they want to share their beloved hobby with, will fall terribly short...:(

The two of you both share a common interest and neither of you have laid claim to the hobby as "MINE". There is most definitely a wide array of subjects that fishkeeping requires,
plenty for both of you to "sink your teeth" into
By sharing the work and the rewards, it sounds like the two of you are a good team, and in this day and age that is a GREAT thing!! It shows in the progression of your hardware.....

We've both have made serious mistakes over the years. However, we're both totally invested in this. So, when one makes a mistake, you sorta want to be mad, but know that the guilty party feels SO much worse than the other does about it that you'd feel like a total jerk for even saying something. It would be much harder if one of us was more committed to this than the other. Also, we started this together completely clueless and killed of our first round of poor guppies in our 10 gallon tank. Anymore, we've learned that if nothing dies it will probably be pretty funny later if it isn't right then. We've ended up with some insane stories that we end up rolling with laughter over now. Oh, and, it's probably good he's so incredibly patient. ;)

Looks good Jen, way to keep the tradition going.
Now tell Eric to jump in there once it's completely filled =-)

:screwy: Why would you want to see Eric in the tank Joey? Strange? I thought Jenn looked just fine in there...... just needs water!

Jenn/Eric.... sorry I wasn't able to help this weekend. I was working and just got home this morning. It looks like you had plenty of help. Next time I suppose..... :( I do need to borrow those suction cup things.... might have someone picking up my tank this Wednesday and could use those (and you and Eric).

No problem. Getting a horde of people's schedules to line up is impossible, especially when you are asking such a big favor. You and my brother were the only ones that actually volunteered and were in driving range of making it. I think everyone else got guilted or conned into it. I'm not sure how it happened, but all of a sudden there were extra people coming. I think my mother (who really isn't into fish but wants to see this tank up so I can clean up my garage) gave my uncle and father the look which then caused my uncle to drag over my cousin. Mom's are so good at getting people to do things they don't want to. :grinno:

I can definitely bring the suction cups. Those things helped so much. I can make it over, don't know about Eric. He's had one business trip after another so he's going to need to stay late at work this week. :( I'm good for lifting up to about 80 lbs., especially since its not kicking, squirming, or trying to bite me! (I was a Vet Tech for years. No weird comments please.). I also have floor dollies I can bring (Joey I still need to return yours!)

Jenn I am really impressed with your tank and the fact that you and your hubby get to share the hobby together! It's coming along great! My wife is just now starting to get an interest in the hobby with me. She has two fish (Rotkeil sevs) in my tank and wants to start a 90 of her own just for them. I even promised her I would buy enough scrubbies to use only the pink ones for her tank. It's a small step (now where near what you have) but I can only imagine how happy it make Eric to share a hobby like this with you. Nice job guys!

wow I missed a lot, it's looking great cant wait to see the cats in there. So are you or Eric going to be swimming solo or with the fishes? (lol my wife totally freaks every time I go swimming with mine in the pond, she has some strange phobia that a fish will be grabbing hold of each finger/toe etc.)

do you have plants/grass/trees in your backyard? with the size of the w/c you could setup quite the watering system and plants love that nitrate filler water.

That's great that she's getting involved. The pink scrubbies are fun! I went and got plastic bins with pink lids. Frankly its nice to have girlie stuff around when most everything would be considered 'guys' work.

For the first time at least before the fish get in. :) As for the backyard... Its tiny. I'm gonna do what I can with as much of the water as I can. I'll offer some to my neighbors to see if they want to use some of it.

Most people deem us absolutely "sick with it".
The first time they see 100+ gallons they know we are totally insane.
The two of you have just corralled your landlords car with a
"Portable 600 gallon Monster",
Put together a 100 piece PVC 3-D Jigsaw,
Un-bagged 1/4 ton of sand,
and found the low spot in a Flooded garage!!...
And I see positive energy, and not a hint negativity,
Just smiles and poses!!
Good Job you two,
and I also, am looking forward to seeing your progress...
Keep on taking your time and enjoy every minute of it, I know I would.;) :D
well said.
