Thanks legends so much.

Does anybody know about this sump I got? My buddy said they stop making those, seems pretty awesome and tight to me?

Comes with 3 little giants series 4 all a few months old and the tower and sump are filled with bio balls.

I have a bucket of Eheim Substrate I wanted to use and I was thinking to put it in the tower with a sock?

I was thinking one giant piece of drift wood and one whole side of the tank full of Anubias since the tank will receive some daylight sun!!

Any advice on the filter?

Holy smokes thats a tall tank, armatus will definitely thank you. Very nice pickup.

Instead of a niger which gets beyond monstrous, maybe an irwini catfish or two (aka armored driftwood haha). Not the most active but I like them a lot, very prehistoric looking when they get bigger.

Pics real small so hard to tell. But if your going with a bio tower setup plumb the overflow into a mechanical prefilter (multiple levels of mat, floss, socks etc) run three of the pumps pulling water from sump flowing directly back to tank and use the remaining one to pump water from the sump to flow water over the bio balls in the tower. Tons of ways to do it just depends on space and personal preference.

I remember when I got my custom 100gal! I was so happy when I finally got it home. had to drive almost 150 miles to get it to my house because of two trips in my wifes pacifica. It fit and I got it home though!! I cant imagine bringing that tank home haha!! My wife would poo bricks hahah!! Nice tank!

1" thick for 4' tall???? :( Regardless, I bet the Armies will love that thing!!!!

Anyways... First thing I'd do is sell the pumps. Look at the wattage rating on those things vs GPH. IF they're what I'm looking at they're 145 watts for only like 1K GPH? I use a very similar pump for my skimmer at home and hate using it but apparently that's what the skimmer works best with. I think it's a waste of electricity. You could save yourself enough money in electricity in probably a couple months to justify brand new efficient pumps like Reeflo, Dolphin, Wlim, or Evolution.

Nice new tank!
Kinda tall....lots of swimming room.
SOme big bichirs would do well w/ the armatus.

Can you post close-up pics of the inside of the sump?

I would just have the drains going into filter socks and throw a bunch of submerged bio-media in there and call it a day.

I'm curious why they have 4 pumps for the tank? Were a few of them running closed loop? I'm guessing they must have been since the lower return coming off of the overflow tower looks to be really low...if there is a back siphon and that return is not hooked up to a closed loop, it looks like about 25% of the tank would drain out (check valve could be used to prevent that, but they are not 100% fail safe, so I wouldn't rely on them to prevent a flood).

If you can try to post some more detailed pix...tank looks awesome! Congrats!

That's a fantastic sized tank - i love those really tall tank.
The sump picture is very small - would be nice to get a better view of it?

I'd love to see the armatus that's going in there - just the one is it?

Niger cats are great by the way, i have two.
