A few questions for you "monsterfishkeepers"

Im sure this thread will get deleted but maybe it will do some good. As someone stated earlier this is about sharing ideas and experiences and exchanging of knowledge. I've learned a lot through this site but nothing compares to experience. It seems to me that when someone shares their experience that goes against the expert in that subforum they get flames. There is also way too much info regurgitators that have no experience that jump on someone who is seeking info.

On a side note, where are all the 4' rtcs and tsn's or the 4' silver arose and all the other monster fish. There was recently a thread in the aro sectionabout tank size. Ppl were making claims of tank sizes based on a fish that supposedly gets 4' long and no one has shown proof of an aro over 30". Fish in captivity differ greatly from that in wild. It's stuff like this that gets passed on that makes this site somewhat erroneous.

Well I read the other thread and I can honestly say the advise he gave you was uncalled for and there is no room for that on this forum. One of the main reasons of the forum or any forum IMO is to help noobs remember we were all noobs at one time. I saw that one person said they should research the fish before coming here asking question that's BS. Coming here asking questions is one of the best things you can do atleast you know your getting good advise, well not in this instance.

Anyways after saying all that got something else to say. To the author of this thread not trying to be cocky or rude just speaking the truth your attitude on this forum needs to change from the start of that thread you were rude and disrespectful and most people on here including myself will not tollerate that. Not saying that's a good reason to give bad advise when you no its bad because its not but still I would suggest changing your attitude because if not its not going to get you anywere but the word banned under your name.

i read the other post too... giving sarcastic advise guised as regular advice is stupid and uncalled for. Written word leaves much in terms of interpretation. That should be common sense on an advice forum

I must say, the OP has very good, and very valid points. Ones that are the very reason I left the site nearly 2 years ago. Too many of the members let their ego get the best of them.

^^^ OP, I believe that you are one of those members that has actually caused some of the problem.. making noobs feel uncomfortable for asking a simple question, a question that may have not been simple to them.

I have seen many of your posts, and your attitude does need to change. Although th few that I have seen recently have been actual good advice, and you seem to have good advice but you also happen to include a negative sense to what you are saying.

All in all, we need to help each other in everyway possible. If a question, or situation annoy you, just keep shut.. let someone else help..

If you show me A post where i was rude to a noon, I will humbly Accept it. What I get tired of is the know it alls and the whining about petsmart pet o or wal mart or just the wannabe mfk super heroes in general. Those are usually the ppl I get mad about. Also I never give advice that I can't backup with experience so thank you for that

This is only partly true. People need to have a basis of info to build on. Pretty hard to teach someone to build a brick wall if they have no idea what a brick or a wall is.

There's aro's over 30 inches. Some people have them on here. Just have to search.

P.S. I'm not seaching, I've seen the threads don't need to spend time looking them up again in case you want the specific thread. :)

Agree with most things in the original post besides this point.
