BTW None of my fish will these disgusting things until they are starving, and then they quit right away. I did not show the brand name but you can figure it out.

I've got $15 jar here that's going to go into the worm farm.

. . . salt/fat content/corn filler aspect is the main issue (also nitrates in some brands I believe). Like swallowing a blob of fat and spoon of salt for dinner. . . . fishermen use a 'bread paste' mixture where they make it into balls to feed fish. Not sure about the nutrition level, though. You could probably grind pellets into the dough I would guess. . .

I think that these floating cichlid sticks are made out of fish flavored wood dough and artificial vitamins. I understand that Oscar's need some Fiber in their diet but mine just spit these things back at me.

All I'm feeding right now is red worms, ghost shrimp, shrimp wafers, and Hikari gold. Sometimes a little bit of a different type/brand of fish food, but without success.

Fruits and vegetables never get eaten but sometimes a little dried krill.

I'm getting a little more desperate for insects & I'm almost ready to try the dastardly hot dogs!

That looks like the Tetra sticks/Jumbo Min I used to feed years ago.It would break up when the fish munch on it and it would dye the tank water

I mistakenly bought some of these. They do tend to make a mess since they are orange. They are a no no for feeding oscars.
So I only periodically givem to Luther. Swallows em hole.

Lol, that's what some call a balanced diet :grinno: The fish are really enjoying it, lol.

It's about 25C here today and that's how my "hot dog" is sleeping, taken seconds ago.

Yeah I know, that's all it takes.

We'll just smear him in onions and mustard if he acts up. :lipsseale :lipsseale:

So...
beef , pork, or chicken dogs? Which is best?

You have foot longs and half smokes too. Chili dogs! And cheese dogs with the chunks in them! Hot smokes with red pepper pieces! 7-Eleven shoppers will know this.

Best condiment ...mayo, ketchup, onions, relish, or mustard?

Best mustard spicy or the bright yellow stuff?

Choices, choices...

Well if hot dogs are bad for your fish shouldnt beefheart be that? Mamal as malal. Processed or not. Who the hell gives a crap. I feed my peacocks wheatgerm pellets made for kois every now and then and they love it. I feed my redtail giant gourami peanuts once in a while.
