FWIW, tigers will always fight as they get larger. It is a natural part of their life cycle and is unavoidable.
The reason for this is simple. When smaller; VATF, TATF and FATF are all schooling species that form marauding packs of like sized juveniles. As they reach maturity, which for those three species is at about twelve inches, they leave the school and become increasingly solitary and intolerant of congeners.
Brevis and goliath never form packs which explains why they tend to do poorly with other tigerfish. These two species will also become increasingly intolerant of other tiger fish at maturity, which is reached at about fifteen inches.
As some of you may have figured out, I've given up on trying to cohabitate a group of tigers. This new data is why. I suppose I should update the Guide with this info as it really is quite relevant to our hobby.
