well we got the 150 filled and no matter what people say you can rinse sand as much as you want but the end result is cloudy

she tries to act like shes not interested in fish but yet she is always there to help, i think she is a future fish keeper
DSC07251.jpg

this tank is a custom 150g and I am gonna let it sit for a good week or so till i populate it have to plan the decor out as well as what is gonna go in it, I would sure like to get my zebra tilapia out in the public eye

another lesson learned by me today is this if you wish to paint the backs of tanks do it before you fill them ahhahahahhahahhah. I painted the back of the 180, 150 and 300 will redo them tomorrow, i do like the look here is the 180 now

DSC07264.jpg

the one fish in the picture is part of a group of three i got for free, it had no tail and I was thinking of mercy killing it but thought maybe I can get it to live well its gotten much better but its tail is not growing back but it swims an eats so it lives

believe it or not as a person I am killer allergic to some kinds of fish but that is what I excell at as a chef

I do a killer lemon sesame salmon soup, and my wild pacific salmon wrap is a big seller

ok so my plan for the 180g is to totally focus it on the zilli tilapia so I moved many of the fish out and it looks like this now still aways to go to get it where I want it but its progressing

DSC07752.jpg

the 150 is now populated, the decision was for a albino flitter focus and I needed to rehome my 1st pair of mated angels so they went in as well, 1 albino long fin oscar, 10 albino red fin barb, 7 albino long fin tetra. Also stole a bunch of plants from my other tanks and I like the ruins look as it really appeals to kids and personally I love it so I will be getting mosses and such to attach to the ruins and make it really interesting looking. I have one more led bubbler in there but need to get a power box to power the whole tank.

I forgot I also put a dwarf rainbow fish that I have raised from a speck when he was in a tank having gone through the sump system at the petstore was a guess as to what he was,as well I have a pearl geo in here I have raised from a young fry who when he gets bigger will go in the 140g

well had my first issue with a tank here bummer.

I bought some salvini from a walmart and put them in my 100g assorted basic grow out tanks should have qt them, that will be my next step here setting up a qt tank

the salvini show popeye and bloat and a few others in the tank are acting weird it would be my first issue with walmart fish. My first fish from wally world were dragon goby, then dwarf gourami, and a couple of bristlenose plecs sold as common, and a few upsidedown cats so when I saw these salvini I thought they will look good in the big tank when they grow.

have done agressive wc since it showed hope I dont lose the tank but things happen

well thought it was time to update, since school let out for the spring summer break except for finals and some summer classes it was time, time to start the upgrade of the concept here.

I wanted to wait for the population of the university to drop before I began to monkey with the tanks and the whole concept. People might think one would want to do that during peak time, but I have seen trainwrecks when you try to rework a concept during busy time. So the first thing to redo was the signage.

I plan on repainting the trim on the white boards black

Now the next thing is to begin to institute a change with the tanks. I consolidated all my fronts to the 150g to form a colony. To this end I rehomed Bonita into the 1 75g that held some of them

DSC08341.jpg

I will be getting her tank done first this week as I really do not like having her in a bare bottom tank.

the 140g as well i left only 3 bichir, 2 dwarf snakehead, a silver arow, 2 niger cats a couple of synd cats and 1 bigger cichlid that I have no idea what it is, though my zilli tilapia were laying a beating on it 3 on 1 so now it has its own tank

the zilli tilapia were rehomed to my 300g and I put the breeding pair of bleekeri from the 140g into their 75 so they are the only 2 in there.

the various geophagus and the rest of the bleekeri who are still peaceable went into the 180g, and the flitter fish from the 150 went into the 180 so it now looks like this

DSC08357.jpg

Ill post a string of close up of the fish now in here, I want it to go geophagus american cichlid focus

this last one is sort of save case on my part I really think the dude was gonna cull it but it has grown healthy and really has character. The plan is to set up a madagascar tank in the very near future so the bleekeri will move there. In this 180g there is also about 20 albino flitter fish just to keep some schooling action goin on

the 150 front colony looks like this excuse the shot as it was late and I said done deal

gotta watch this tank for the next few days to see if the alpha male has any issues, if there is I will swap out 40% of them into the 140g to cut agression as these fronts are wc and top notch f1 dont wanna lost any to a beating

I did a rescape on the johani tank so it looks like this now

and my babies are growing up to look good

I also did a remake on my corner 45g as I need to establish it as a minnow, guppy breeding tank to use them as feeders for the museum tank so it looks like this now

DSC08999.jpg

had to rehome both of my 2 newest babies to the 140g as they were dining on the population

DSC08998.jpg

I moved the 2 ripsaw cats to the museum display tank, put my 2 red terror in my 300g and then moved my iri sharks back to the 140g as I was having a hard time getting them food in either the 300g or the 180g. So now the 140g

I turned bonitas old 75g home into a love nest for my mated pair of bleekeri small spots and it looks like this

Next update to this should come in the way of me setting up my new 180g and a remake on a couple of the other tanks here

So rather than start another thread I thought I would intertwine a few aspects of my world into this one to spice it up some.

One of my other businesses that we do is old cars and spring is the time to open er up and put some on the market. Presently our 54 jaguar mark 7 is getting the brakes redone, we have to get parts from england and manufactor some. Our 52 nash statesman has a small amount to be done, gotta love american classics so easy to put together. The 68 sport fury 3 is at another garage getting the engine done, and I am putting our 65 merc on the market today
