Chelsea, can you give an example of what would be an ideal day's meal? I am a guy, 6'2", 260 lbs, and reasonably athletic but out of shape (if that makes sense). I want to gain muscle and lose weight, but my main focus is on losing weight. What do you suggest as an excercise regimen as well?

I don't drink any alcohol, coffee, or smoke.

I run at a 4.2% incline. Actually, I can't run the entire hour, so I alternate between 5 minutes walking 4.6 mph, and running between 5.8 and 7.2 mph.

For breakfast i have 1 cup milk, chocolate powder, artificial sweetner, 2 slices toast and margarine, and normally a banana or orange. Lunch I usually eat at school, so usually a 12" club sub at subways. Dinner I eat late, around 9 or 10, and usually have a plate of rice and beans, lettuce, 3 small baked chicken fillets, and...that's it. For snacks I eat an orange or have a glass of milk (just milk)

Late Carbs... Bad.. Ideally you don't want carbs after 3pm. Some say 6pm, but I believe 3pm. That could be a huge factor in your weight loss issues. I'd definitly do a google for "late evening carbs" or something like that.

I stay away from processed foods like that. Especially margirine. I will probably get quite a few opinions over this, but margirine is terrible. Your body does not fully understand how to digest the makeup of margirine. I use butter, sparingly. Butter is a lot more natural than margerine, and can be digested easier and more throughly. I'm not going to get very indepth with this, but gooogle it.
As well, artificial sweetner, is a no no for me.

As a general rule, I tell clients this..

If it doesnt come off a tree, out of the ground or from a corral, don't eat it.

That's kinda my basis on good diet.

As well, have snacks.
Eat more frequently.

eeeww, don't use those colors :yuck:

I was told no carbs after 8 pm, but i guess i heard wrong. How about my workout schedule?

1st Meal-8 egg whites, 1 yolk, 1 cup oatmeal
2nd Meal-1 can tuna, 2 pieces whole grain bread
3rd Meal-2 chicken breast, 10 oz Red Potatoes, Green Beans
4th Meal-1 cup low fat cottage cheese, Ro-tel tomatoes
5th Meal-Chicken Breast, Green Beans
6th Meal-Salmon, Green Beans

If I get hungry in between meals...I grill me some cabbage...

It would be out of my scope of ability to give you something to do without consulting with you and assesing you. I can give advice, but do not feel able to give you a plan on such vague information. Come on, I'm not a super hero! lol

ok, lame joke, but seriously dude, google will be your best friend.
I will give you advice. But by knowing very little it's hard to.
