do you have a species list of the 135? i love the yellows

Sure, the yellow ones are a male and female nimbochromis venustus (giraffe cichlid). The male is the one with the blue head and bright yellow body. He is bright yellow all the time but noticed when he wants to spawn he is almost canary yellow with no hint of spots. Gorgeous fish. They get big and do have a reputation.

I have
2 m/f venustus pair
2 m/f borleyi
2 m/f red empress
2 male albino strawberry peacocks
1 male stuartgranti
1 female OB peacock
1 brichardi
1 cyrtocara moori (blue dolphin)
1 male chilotilapia rhoadesii (thought it was a dolphin hybrid but id it today !)
6 juvie burundi frontosa

These are all malawi haps and peacocks (except the frontosa and single brichardi those are lake tang) and commonly found at most decent LFS.

I normally do not house my haps and peacocks anymore with my frontosa but sold most of the fish on this list and they dont pick them up till this weekend. I find all these fish to get along together good, only aggression is when one is spawning, then back to normal. It is very colorful and very active, almost hyper looking. I have heard that venustus (the big yellow ones ) can be aggressive as adults, my fish are young adults and show no signs what so ever of being nasty. Might be cause i raised them from 1 inch fry but more likely i just lucked out. I would recommend that if you are gonna keep this many large haps you get a used 120 (6 foot tank) for them or min . a 75 gallon . They all like long open unobstructed swimming areas and sand with rocks to swim inbetween them, dont really dwell in rocks but do swim around them .

Hope this was helpful for you.

oh, and i also have one labeotropheus (orange mbuna) in there. Forgot her LOL.

After seeing the clown loaches im considering those. Im gonna go research them right now LOL. I would get the single brichardi at the same time as the peacocks, same with the venustus (unless they are not the same size) I noticed the borleyi and venustus and redempress all have about the same size after growing for 6-8 mo. Peacocks are smaller, brichardi are smaller, but those are smaller fish. All fish are territorial thats why i say to get them as juvies all at the same time let them grow up together. Only one i had problems with was the stuartgranti was aggressive and also the eyebiter showed signs of getting aggressive when he was in with haps, put it with the mbuna and no problem now.

yeah i will probably get a brichardi two weeks after the tank is set up but will get the smallest. and i want to get the venustus after i have all my peacocks bigger, i dont want them eaten haha. hope i can fish a NICE eyebiter too young because they are the most different african imo. thats kinda what im going for in this tank...nothing the same and all males :D

Make sure that you have plenty of rockwork in the bottom , spread it along the length of the tank makeing caves with areas of open sand between the piles. The brichardi can live in it and also have refuge from the larger haps if needed. My experience is they dont really need it, the brichardi seem to grow slow but are aggrsssive so it makes up for their smaller size. Dont go small with the brichardi, I would suggest you get a 2 inch brichardi or larger if you can find one since the haps get big and do it faster. Brichardi get 5 or 6 inches as full grown fish not counting their trailers, with trailers they often appear bigger :)

yeah i am going to have TONS of lace rock and attempt to make as many caves and such as i can. and yeah i have access to either a 2 inch or 4 inch, will defi get the 2 inch. too bad they are hard to tell males and females apart.
