AGGRESSIVE CHICLID!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why don't you get a brown acara. I had one years ago who would attack my hand when I would clean his tank. He would nip and nip. That fish was a hardy tough little guy at 6 inches. As much personality as an oscar. Cichlasoma portagensi---brown acara

They said that I was geting the tank for my birthday. and I am chosing a fish now so I can reaserch it after I decide what fish I want. I always tell my freind to return fish that ger to big for his small 10 gallon tank. and I am gouing to tell him about the nitragin cycle ect. I can handdle fish tanks. I clean my tanks a lot to! I am good with fishkeeping. and I can handel more than 75 gallons! how did you now I had a baby oscar who is doing great. I am really good at fish for my age. I am teaching my younger sister how to clean the grevel sython. I can handle it!

Ohhh I get it, all your silly posts make more sense now...you're a little kid. Knowing that, people here might start cutting you more slack from now on, Oscaroos. But for the record, we still won't put up with anything we consider abuse.

LoL, even your name is like a little guy's....you created your name from Underoos. Take care little buddy. :)

oscaroo - while I applaud your enthusiasm, and the fact that you are doing research before you buy your next fish, as it now stands you don't have an aqequate sized tank for your current oscar. Right? So ideally the new tank should be for your oscar, and your then 'old' tank would be better suited for fish that won't get so big. Allan's suggestion about an Acara might be just the fish that would fit your 60 gallon tank. A 36x18 footprint really doesn't allow any type of monster aggressive fish. My advice, start small, get some experience under your belt, then start looking at larger tanks, and larger species of fish. Over time you'll have a lot more fun, and spend less time dealing with sick fish, such as your first oscar that came down with HITH. There's no rush, plenty of time for bigger tanks & monster fish. :)

I couldn't agree more, that's great advice.

Well said RD. Oscaroo, there are some fun species you can keep in a 60 gallon after you move your oscar to the new tank. I would recommend a male and female pair of convicts. They would do just fine in that size tank, are pretty aggressive for their size and will teach you the ropes of how to care for cichlids since they breed often. Good job trying to do some homework before you buy your fish. Nice job

oscaroo, it would have been good to mention in your first post in this thread that you wanted to house a fish by itself, instead of saying you wanted a fish that would beat up a midas or red devil. the way your post was worded, it made it look like you wanted to house two aggressive fish together and allow them to fight each other.

RD - well said!!! :clap

no one said the black belt?
