Air bubble?

What kind of ridx are you guys using because judging from the safety instructions it sounds like it pretty rough stuff. It says it could be extremely irritant to eyes? Will this effect fish. I did read about using septic bacteria but I haven't found a good kind to use and I really want to try this out even though my bio-load is extremely light. I could probably do water changes every two weeks if I wanted judging by my water parameters but I prefer to have my water extra clean so I've been looking into this

Rd wrote a great thread on the subject. Checkout the pro biotics sticky in the health section...long but interesting read

what does powerfeeding mean?
do they need to eat every day when they are younger/smaller or is that what we were clearing up? Cause if it is okay to feed the young ones every other day that would be reassuring.
Power feeding is feeding multiple times a day or feeding everyday but more amount that a poly should eat. Makes the fish grow bigger and faster but not got for digestive system since they dont have time to process the food, it will make more waste in the water and fish can become obese. Some will to power feed and WC everyday and can have a massive growth. I dont recommend power feeding, before i used to over feed and learned my lesson, to much polys having bloat and tail float due to gas not passing thru. In the wild we dont know how often young polys eat, but i dont think they eat everyday.

Thanks for explaining! I can understand why people would do it. But I personally don't like the idea of gorging polys or them becoming obese and getting health problems. Figuring out the right amount to feed can be a challenge. That's great to know that bloat and tail float are indicators of overfeeding. Accidentally did this to my betta recently. Then went back to feeding him every other day.

Its hard to tell how much a poly will eat, especially when you have multiple poly. I found on CB poly the best way to feed is when you see their belly dont have a bulged no more, then you know its ready to eat, for WC poly its more tricky, you will see bulged stomach but after a day its most likely gone, so i look at the their bottom and you will see a line, if you see a line then they are good to eat, but having a set schedule is much easier.

Dont remember where i read this or how true it is... somerhing about larger inactive carnivorous fish dont spend allot of calories and it being healthy to provide fasting periods of a week or so every now and then.

this is very interesting. Particularly about the WC. Makes sense with the CB. Thanks for sharing!
