SUCCESS! I got wigglers from my convicts today ! And the parents are only an 1" at best...

Awesome

I usually feed mine at about 3/4-1" and when i do some of the females have allready turned red.

Thanks for the tips bro. They are eating some baby brine shrimp and crushed aqueon flake now in a sponge filter growout. I bet my Endli's and Ornate are dying for something different on the menu :)

Thanks for the kind words

I am glad this has helped out a few people.

The fry can be kept with the parents. Like mentioned I place a sponge over the intake when i leave them in. But the parents will not lay another batch until the old fry are removed. I remove them only because they grow faster when you seperate them and power feed, and the parents start the cycle all over again once they are removed.

what do u mean power feed? im prety sure ur not talking about crushed flakes sounds more advanced o and nice write up :D

I have 1-2 males (one is just coloring up) with 8-9 female guppies in a ten super prego. I can't wait for them to start dropping in a week or so!

after the summer when I move to college I will put the parents in a 5 gallon and have the fry in a separate 5 gallon. Is it an okay Idea to feed them if the parents are siblings? Should I find new males? I have a male in a friends tank that would be the dad of my females. Would that be a good deal?

I also have to figure out filtration for these two. I am thinking about the cascade mini canister. I don't want to spend 50 bucks to get two of them though so I need to figure out a way for it to filter both.

Both 5's will be heavily planted and sit side by side.

These will be fed to My albino Tiger Oscar.

i would like to breed some feeders for my red bellied piranhas and dwarf snakehead.

i only have 1 small tank spare, a 22.5 gallon. i would really like to do convict cichlids but i was wondering what i would do with just the 1 tank?

also, do you guys put the correct amount in for 1 serving or is it possible to put more in and let them pick them off 1 by 1 as they want?

are u asking if you can put in excess amounts of feeders into your feeding tank?

u can, but i dont advise it b/c if you throw in alot of feeders at once the water gets cloudy and they poop allot and the ammonia goes up
