I don't think arowfan fed him right before you picked him up. In his pics his stomach doesn't look just fed, just healthy. As these cats get bigger their digestive tracts slow down and take a couple days in between feedings. Which is why we need to keep feeding to a minimum once they are past the juvie stage, and down to 2 or 3 times a week at adult size.

He fed him morning of, as he stated in a previous post

I had woken up very early that morning and fed him 3-4 pieces of tilapia, I think 10 is you being drastic; I've never had a problem such as this when transporting my fish.
The water was yellow-yes because I have blackwater extract in almost all my tanks.
As for the gill curl, when I bought the fish at 3-4 in, it already had signs of it starting-was crammed in a tiny *** tank and wasn't in the best shape with other fish picking on it, I bought it becuase I felt bad for it.
As for the pics, those were the only two I was able to snap, and I clearly stated that he had it in my ad-so I don't know what your trying to pull here. :screwy:
Forgive me for feeling upset and not answering your last txt message as this was a dear pet of mine.
And yes, I know, crap happens.

The gill curl was bad. Gill curl is caused from bad husbandry, dont critque my husbandry when you allowed this fish to live with it for 2 years.

**** happens stop pointing fingers, im not blaming you for the death. Your posting pictures of when he was healthy to feel all high and mighty yet you fail to recognize the most obvious cause of the damage to the fish is the fact that he sat in his own vomit due to having a semi full stomach. 3-4 pieces of talapia, 40 pieces, or 10 i dont care he was fed the same day he was to make a very long drive and he regurgitated, IT HAPPENED its done, learn from the mistake and stop blaming others for a mistake.

I discussed what tanks i have and where i planned on putting him upon meeting with you. It was'nt a shocker that he was put in the 220, Hell i even gave you the courtesy to send you pictures and updates on the fish thru out the day, and day's following. I could have taken the fish home and not said a word to you following, but i didnt.

lol and how is a 220 a tiny ass tank! it has a 6-2 footprint and was temporary, your fish didnt even live 3 days, in my "tiny fish bowl of a tank" that didnt kill it trust me, its like you grew it in a 600+ gal tank. You had it in a 300 for 2 years that is 2 feet bigger? depending on the model possibly 1 foot longer. I never heard of the difference between a 220 and 300 killing a fish in 3 days, correct me if im wrong. The next thing your going to say is "the stress of the move plus the marble catfish", and thats fine, by now i've realized you blame others for your mistakes its cool.

I just have to ask, but how does you being upset about the RTC dying have anything to do with you not texting him back? You obviously had no intention of it, or you wouldn't have had to explain yourself on here, because after you got over your grieving you would have texted back, but you didn't. And he said he found 8-10 chunks of tilapia, not that you FED him 8-10pieces of tilapia.

Agree with OP Mods should close this, nothing good is coming of it, and it is now completely off topic.

^ agreed I dont know how hard it would have been to shoot me a message back, I gave him the courtesy you'd think I'd get it back in return. It's fine though.

Who knows when the talapia was fed. he admits to the morning feed of a small chunk, but the small chunk he told me about the day or just turned to 4 chunks in his previous post so who knows.

I agree completely, I'm just done talking about this please close the thread.

My parameters the day before and the day after remained between 0-.25ppm ammonia, and 0ppm nitrite.

So just for the record, there is always ammonia in the tank?

Are you joking me? i have 5 big catfish. My ammonia fluctuates between feedings and WC from 0-.025 ammonia yes. For the record i always have ammonia in my tank if u want to go that route. Ask around its normal, dont jump in after 40 posts to insult me on something you know nothing about. you'd be hard pressed to find a member that has large fish with no ammonia in there tank ever

wow, first off I ask you what tank he was going in and you give me a 8x2x2 dimention-then, "whoops I forgot" he is in my 6x2x2-get your story straight buddy.
Then I ask you what cats there are and you tell me 3-then you "forgot" about the marble...And yes, I said it before, and will say it again, the tank you have with that stock is too small-I guess there's nothing wrong with this picture. How many more bottom fish do you think you can cram in there?
How many times do I have to post this here that the cat already had the curl when I bought it, I know what gill curl comes from, and it didn't come from me.
I'm admitted that I fed the fish 3-4 chunks of tilapia (4 hrs prior to grabbing him) so I dont know how you can say I'm blaming others...I've never had any issues before when transporting fish short distances.
I'm done arguing-I'm glad that your fish are ok;
this has gone on for too long I agree, and I'm done.

Ammonia is never present in any of my tanks and I have some fairly good sized fish....Maybe its because I have adequate filtration & tank size for the fish I am keeping?

I am not posting to insult you....I am posting because the cat looks like it has ammonia burns. You posted this thread seeking answers....Well ammonia burn is my answer. You say you aren't blaming the guy, but it really, really sounds like you are insinuating that he was somehow responsible. It sounds like you are the one doing the insulting.

Its not ammonia burn. Cats cant get ammo burn from 0.025 ppm. Somehow responsible yes. Both party were somehow responsible. Both of them are NOT insulting. They are argueing or debating.

and in the OP defense this same thing/condtion arose on my RTC and has nothing to do with filtration as my 10" RTC was in a 600gal pond with other cats for over a month when the RTC devolped this condtion and there was nothing new introduced to the pond except the RTC itself and luckily all my other cats were not affected by the RTC
