Alligator drags Toddler in water at Disney Resort

I have read them. It's irrelevant. Every body of water in Florida has alligators. It's not Disney's job to take accountability for an entire state and the wildlife that exists there. We going to fence off the Ocean next because it has sharks in it?

When a shark attack happens, who gets sued?

If you get stung by your pet stingray, do you sue the LFS?

Beach is public property. And even on a beach you'll see signs if a spotters sigjts a shark. This was a resort taylored to familiies. Not irrelevant they had prior knowledge that gators could pose a threat. Read the first link. The women describes the night that it happened.... the parent didnt let the kid wander off into the water by himself. Also read one of the parents were standing with him..... he coul have easily gotten snatched from sand

Dude, I used to live in FL.....alligators are everywhere.....all the canals are interconnected and it really doesn't matter because they can go on land and go where they want.

They shouldn't have been in the water. I have swam and waded and boated in water with gators, crocs, sharks, etc......if something were to happen to me, it would have been my fault and mine alone.

They broke the rules, now at least 12 animals have been killed for their stupidity......and a child

It's Florida. There are gators EVERYWHERE.

How many times here do people speak of cramming too many fish into a tank aand outrage when one dies, but 12 alligators get killed and no one cares?

Bit of a double-standard, no?

These people were from nebraska man. Ive traveled allot and i have to admit yeah im aware about fators in fla but i dont research the wild life local to every place i visited.

Nout 1p yrs ago wige and i stayed in le blanc in cancun. Place had 3 huge lagoon type bodies of water all were gated off and had signs that stated no to go near the water crocodiles were present. Disney a billion dollar cooperation should have done the same.

Staff members requested that this be done but i figure disney knows that will hurt biz.

Why have an area outside of their room with access to water, lounge chairs and the whole 9 with out telling people about the gators ?

Because everyone knows Florida is the Alligator capitol of the world.

How do we know the parents weren't scamming anyway? I was just reading a thread about babies in dumpsters and parents SELLING their kids to people as slaves. YOU are a great parent, but that doesn't mean everyone else is. Don't overestimate humanity. Thhey could have been just another couple who were gonna sell their kid but decided this would be more profitable.

It's messed up, yes.....it is MESSED UP, but It needs to be said. People are capable of horrible things and I often give humanity more credit than it deserves.

I don't, but I do have my dogs which I take better care of than lot of people care for their own kids.

If I did have kids, they would want to join the military because they would see it as a reprieve compared to how strict I would be.

The father was injured trying to save the kid...pretty elaborate scam.

This is like saying if you visit nyc and get murdered by a couple of gangbangers because you were out in tribecca after hrs its your fault
