yeah that should work out well until you guys can get the big tank set up, and lol i take it you didnt ask her before posting it for sale haha but yeah i personally would definitely keep it, seems like you are meant to have it after having the impossible happen of you buying it as a mayan and it just happening to actually be a festae, seems like you were meant to be the owner of this fish haha

I think you are doing the best thing possible. I am glad you used common sense and stopped the beating.
Great advice on the sand everyone. Pool filter sand is the the best imo.

yeah balton, everytime i see that fish i cant believe that, thats the condition you got her in, i would have never thought a fish could heal that kind of damage, but your gorgeous halloween fish is proof of what can happen with good care 
the divider is in place. The pike is back in the tank and all is well. No one has pool filter sand. Homedepot said they never heard of the stuff. I even showed them the stuff on thier website
You may have to look in the pool equipment section yourself. If they have it, it will be in that section.
Try the Lawn and Garden Center of Lowes. I work in management for the company, so I can assure you it is there.
yeah when i got mine i had to find it myself the people i asked didnt know what i was talking about, look out in the garden center at the pool section where the chlorine and everything is and its usually right there, it may not be directly called pool filter sand its may be called like silicate sand or something like that but its meant for pool filters
i pulled it up on my blackberry and even gave them the sku# and they couldnt find it but i found a pool shop that should have so ill get there sometime this week. I searched all over lowes and home depot and found nothing.
