I never have a problem with sand going into my sump. PFS is heavy enough to stay down but light enough for fish to dig through easily.
Get two bags. One bag was just too thin for me. You may like less but you could always save what's left over. It may come in handy when you need to set up another tank.
+1 on getting two bags, one bag will be a pretty thin layer, and remember by rinsing it your getting rid of all the extra particles and really small ones so the whole 50lbs isnt actually going into your tank...
OK sounds good hopefully this will help the festae color up because i cant get it eat pellets to save my life
so you cannot ship the festae.... id take it for 50 bucks plus shipping...... prob would get beat up by my midas though
Also pictures do much justice and advertising. Unfortunately the colors just never came back so that made it hard to sell as well. Example: Umbeeking has some pretty stunning Festaes with super stunning colors, that would probably sell for $300 + for the pair. No way discrediting your Festae but trust me pics do justice. If I took a pic of same fish with my 7MB camera and AquaMojo took pic of same fish and we competed to sell it, he'd win because his photos are sooooooooo stunning. Not just saying that its equipment but everything go into it. Especially in trying to sell pearly Flowerhorns, you want the right sheen on the pearls.
what is she eating? if shes not eating pellets then that also probably has a lot to do with her coloring, are there any dither fish in with her? usually festae do not color up well/are comfortable when by themselves, they can be a bit skittish...
she is alone right now. I've tried since day one to get her to eat pellets and she wont. Shes eating night crawlers, and frozen krill.
