Am i making the right choice???

if she isnt looking too skinny then i would just fast her until she eats them, you can soak them in some tank water with the krill or something before hand to make them smell like what she wants, and use slow sinking/sinking types so she doesnt have to come to the top if that is an issue for her, fish can be pretty darn stubborn sometimes when it comes to switching pellets but you just have to be even more stubborn and in the end her stomach will win out, a healthy fish will never starve to death if there is food available

Don't be afraid to hold out for longer than a week. Cichlids can go awhile without any food. You're the one calling the shots here, not her.

well she ate 2 worms today so i wont give her food for a while, but i am going to get a divider in thie tank because i dont want her to get used to being alone

they might, if anything they might at least help her open up more and they will be able to go through the divider so should be safe, and yeah a large fish like that, that is healthy can go longer than a week easily without food, you just have to out last her, it can be nerve wracking because they can go a long time but like i said she is not going to starve herself to death, her stomach will win out in the end even if it take several weeks...

how badly was your pike beat up? i think since you value your pike so much i would at least start with the divider first, then later you can try without it and keep a close eye out but i would def still start out with adding the pike on the other side of the divider...

he was missing some skin and hiding behind the filter tubes alot. Im gonna let him heal up a few more days in his 20 gallon then toss him back in with a divider
