Am i making the right choice???

IMO you are getting the short end of the stick on this trade. Around here you can find jags on every corner and females are usually the undesirables from people growing out to get a good male. Female Festae is worth much more than a small female Jag. I gave my 4inch jag away for free...lol

If jags are what you want, than the value of them in general doesnt matter. It matters what they are valued to you. I would pay 15 for a female jag without giving away a rare fish. So it sounds like he is taking the Festae off your hands and then selling you the jag...lol

That 75 is a good size for the female on her own until you get the 150. i would go either 125-180 tho dont see a point in the taller tanks other than more weight on the glass. She is protecting her 75g and basically telling you that she requires that space for herself. My JD was the MOST AGRESIVE FISH IN THE WORLD in a 55... HE NEEDED IT ALL! Put him in a 90 and he was a church mouse.

Making me think i should keep her. Any ideas on how i could ease her aggression so i can put my pike back in

A Festae will be a Festae. At her size, in a 75 with other cichlids, she will stay aggressive. If you want to keep her, separating her from the others until you set up the larger tank may be your only option. Switching the decor around won't solve the problem either. She will remain dominant and harm the others. The larger cichlids that you are interested in will have problems living together in the 75, no matter what you trade or keep. It may be best for you to keep and separate what you currently have and refrain from buying anything else until the 150 is running. Once in the 150, your stock could work. If not, you could sale or trade them until you find a mix that works.

yea i may try and keep her as i feel the trade just isnt fair and i dont wanna deal with the aggression of breeding jags. My 150 when set up will have the festae, pike, jag and maybe my red wolf but idk yet

yeah i think a breeding pair of jags would be a higher risk to your pike in that small of a tank than the festae is, i would just put in a divider and keep it like that until you can get the 150 set up, then put the pike in first and let it find its little area and then add in the others, and it should be alright since she wont feel as crowded in the 150

+1 on the divider idea. Go to home depot(or a similar store) and get the "egg crate" plasict mesh, cut to size place heavy rocks on each side on both sides of divider. If the festae is beating that down look up DIY divider tank on google until you come across instructions to use pvc pipe as a cage frame for egg crate, connecting crate to pvc via zip-tie.

yeah just get some egg crate/light diffuser from home improvement store and cut it to size, thats what most people do on here for their larger tanks

Well, looks like it has been said and said again, but I agree with the divider idea, until you have the bigger tank setup. that's your only real chance of getting this to work, imo. BTW... I think your making the right choice.
