Suffice it to say ( not wanting to derail, Levi, the object of this here thread of yours ) that kids are the beginning and the future.

I agree, and we have too damn many of them already:)

From my point of view...

its an act of selflessness .

You were given the gift of life to create all these wonderful/not so wonderful things in the world. Was this not the result of two person joining together, whether intentional or not?

Shouldn't you do the same with this "gift" and pass it on before you use up your "gift" ? Or do you just want to snuff out your flame and have everything end with you?

Thats how I look at it.

Having kids is a responsibility thing. Nobody... or very, very few guys actually have it as a top priority on their list of goals in life.. but its something that comes up eventually, and naturally. Its like paying the bills, managing the bills, etc. Do we like the extra responsibility? Very few of us do.. but its something we should strongly do because it has good fundamental reasons.

What about the people that were not "given" the "gift"

My point was that you are alive today because a man and a woman at some point in history came together, had sex, and had kids. Viola. You then had the gift of life from that point on. Unbiased point of view. I dont think anybody can disagree with this

Unless you burst out of a rock spontaneously, then you might be an exception

Yea, but what does that have to do with me having kids?

A point well taken, Cosmoentropic, in your first post..That's what I was trying to convey in a language that is not mine...

Bear with me, I'm trying to understand this....... (hence the thread)

Since my parents made me, I should follow suit? That wouldn't be fair to the kid if I don't want it.

I disagree with you 110%. Having kids is a CHOICE, not a RESPONSIBILITY
