AMAZING!!! (large snake and venomous vet)

Those are cool, but I would never keep those as pets.

I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping dangerous or venomous animals, so long as you know what you're doing and they are kept like all animals should be, in good health.

But I don't think they should ever be handled. This guy (in his last post) said he was a professional, and does this for a living through a reptile rehabilitation center, so he handles deadly animals all the time (Assuming he's not lying) and when you get used to stuff like that you kinda forget how bad it could be to get a bite.

Although, the way he's handling some of them makes me think he may not have gotten a bite, or he probably wouldn't be touching them again... Venom is PAINFUL. Way more painful then any broken bone, flesh wound or nearly anything I can think of (Except like a gun shot, maybe a bad burn) not to mention that little side effect of death that some animals have in their venom.

Idk... Im really on the fence with this guy. I don't feel keeping animals like this is a bad idea, but what he's saying, and how he's holding them is for sure not a good thing. Maybe he does work for a rehabilitation center, maybe he's certified and on payroll and all kinds of good stuff, thats cool but he's for sure going about it the wrong way, regardless.

i love gaboons, never thought i would see someone in their little country livin room just holdin one like it was a corn snake.lol

No.

It's because Gaboon are known to be calm, and people think they can freehandle them until they get bitten.

gotcha.
Man, why do all the really pretty ones have to be deadly. I think people should start selectively breeding, or hybridizing them to have less potent, or no venom at all naturally.
We breed dogs to have natural bob tails
cats to have flopped ears.
Why not incredibly colorful and unique snakes that have the characteristics of a deadly venomous snake, but are no more harmful than milk snakes?
