AMONIA?????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Either way you look at this situation, when you have fish like pacus that will max out just short of 3' and RTCs that grow to just under 5'. You are going to need a whole lot of tank space in the near future.

On a personal note, I for one, would like to see a ban on RTCs and pacus. Most aquarists are not equipped to care for these fish properly. It's not necessarily the consumers fault, they have most likely been mislead about the care needed to keep one of these species.

If you find yourself with some fish that are too large for your aquarium, and you can't afford a pond to put them in, do as the South American natives do...

cook 'em.

You, my friend, are the very rare exception. Most people don't realize how big these monsters get.

I look forward to pics of your monsters in their 2500 gallon home in the future. I hope that you've found the answers you were looking for.

its on a biological warfaare is in effect people just finished my 2 fx5's with more ceramics and of coarse my old bio balls from the old tank a bottle of cycle water conditioner for the tap some salt and a 50 % water change took two hrs but already I dropped the ammonia level 4 points so we shall see tomorrow thanks people love you guys and thanks to mike at h2o

Your lucky , a 50% water change over here kills not only your nitrifying bacteria , but most of your fish , haha

(we have crap water)

What is in your deadly water that would do that?

About 23 pages of crap :(

Alot of people here do big water changes , we only recomned 10% per week , But what ever is in the water its in random amounts, you can do a 20% water change and kill off all your bacteria and even fish if your unlucky enough to hit bad tap water or not if you hit "good" water.

We even have random amouts of PO4 from stuff all to well over 5mg/l
