So been playing with the tank a little bit today, and added in all of the rock work and am pretty happy with the look of it so far... but as always, any comments or criticism is more than welcome...

Although i might go and buy some plants later to start working on getting a carpet growing...

Big photo update... so will let the pics do most of the talking...

And so the filling process begins with a trickle...

Laid the 2 carpet patches down...

IMG_7292 copy.jpg

IMG_7295 copy.jpg

Once the water was at a suitable level, stopped filling the tank and got the plants prepped...
IMG_7298 copy.jpg

First set of plants in place... now just to wait and see if i need more or not?
IMG_7299 copy.jpg

Please ignore the rock on top of the driftwood, just using it to hold it down for now...

IMG_7301 copy.jpg

IMG_7302 copy.JPG

And thats pretty much it for now... just gotta wait for the tank to settle down a bit, and then start planning out the stock list properly...

At the moment definite wants on the list include:

Crystal Red Shrimp
Ottos
Celestial Pearl Danios
And a type of Killi fish i don't know the English name for...

the Maybe list includes:

Dwarf albino pleco
Scalet Badis
some other type of killi fish?

So if any one who has any other suggestions please feel free to let me know...

^ thanks for the comments...

First off, regarding the plants, not sure what they are called in English since i've been going with Chinese names so theres less confusion at the lfs... But will get pics of them for you all to check out...

As for adding more plants, i may still add a few more, but trying to keep mainly lower growing plants and a more simple look, only because its less maintenance in the long run...

I have considered adding a single dwarf puffer, but considering they can get very nippy its normally not considered a good idea to put them in a peaceful community tank...

Normally with carpe plants yes, but in this case, because this plant has extremely short roots, so they sell it tied to a steel mesh and you place it in as is... Then it will slowly grow upwards a little bit then start spreading out creating a carpet effect...

At least that what i am hoping will happen :p
