Angelfish Spawn!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wow cool mine are n there 5th spawn but no little one yet. :D :(

Very nice! love the tank, i used to have 2 pairs of angels, they are fairly easy to breed, and keep breeding, but watch out because sometimes they eat the eggs, and if they start doing that, they will usually eat the eggs every time they breed after that... this morning actually i put my 2 black angels back together in the same tank (55 Gallon) and i think they might be pairing up! =) lets hope for a successful pair.

My angelfish ate there eggs 3 times in a row. then took a break and now they raise them up to free swimming stage.

You've been busy since I was last on the site! Looks like you've got a regular production line going now - good stuff.
I'll keep dropping in to see how you're getting on, looks like you've been getting good advice!

'Mum & Dad' say 'Hi from Glasgow' on my 1000th post on MFK!

I remember looking at your threads for advice when they first started spawning at the begining of last year!

What do you feed your baby angelfish?

I feed mine algea waffers, fish food all ground up in one of those spice grinders and I am looking at trying to see if there is anything else that will work better.

congrats on your 1000th post!

Hi! I feed freshly hatched brine shrimp for weeks as soon as they're free swimming, and try them out on powdered flake, then crushed flake from the second week on and see if they'll take it. Once they get a little bigger, I try 'em on anything, but they seem to love frozen bloodworm as soon as they can fit it in their mouths!

How soon after the babys hatch and are wigglers do you start the brine shimp?
What kind of hatchery do you use when raising the brine shrimp?
