Another Massive Loss 22'' Black Aro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nothing about an aro is set in stone

nothing about any fish is set in stone. I have had clown loaches that are friendly to 99.9% of the world be viscious and nip my fish..

the hobby has very few hard and fast rules.

I think we can help to figure out what is happening here.

big fish don't die for no reason. usually, something is going on. whether its water, temperature, aggression, ich, fungus, there are a ton of reasons why this beautiful fish could have died..

it would be good to try and help pinpoint the likely cause before selling all this stuff and quiting the hobby..

BigJ has too much great stuff and way too many great fish to do something like that so suddenly..

You had already sold all your other fish, right?

I was trying to get it to go in the direction of trying to help determine why BigJ is experiencing losses lately. not to bash, but to help..but it seems that won't be happening.

sorry for your losses BigJ, I know its tough.

but I hope you reconsider and decide to stay in the hobby.

It's agreat thing to help and try to figure it out for him----

But without knowing the fish personally and everything that could affect the fish tank wise would be damn near impossible for someone that has not raised the fish everyday.....Alot of info would be needed to even begin to try to detrmine this....

Too many factors....

Sorry to hear about the loss. As hobbyist we hate to see other leave the hobby. If you're not having fun and enjoying then quitting or downsizing might not be a bad idea but you will find yourself coming back. Take a few days off from fish then decide if quitting the is the right decision for you. Goodluck bro.

As for why fish jump? Sometimes the water is toxic. I'd do a massive water change

That is both dumb and crass. Someone who spent 10k or whatever on this hobby would know how to keep water parameters in check, dontcha think?

They are squirrely fish; it is far more likely that the aro got spooked or was just feeling frisky.

"toxic water" :irked:

edit: forgot to refresh the page, didn't know I was responding to older post. whoops sorry to pile on. Still, that comment was in very poor taste.

So, with your reasoning in place, this board should not exist to give advice. "Too many factors.." right?

So if i raise my dovi for 20 months, which I have, and I ask for advice, that advice is not relevant because the folks here do know my fish "personally"

Cheers, all I have to say:ROFL:
