Any ex FH keepers wanna input?

I just got rid of my ZZ on New Years Eve, I do miss the thing, he was a very funny fish. But in exchange for him and 2 of my Texas I got a L191 Chamfer Green Royal Panaque pleco and 4 Clown Loaches which are far more fun to watch than he was.

People are allowed to keep flowerhorns and blood parrots, and the rest of us are allowed to laugh to ourselves whenever we see your stock list or pics. :)

Lots of people wouldn't want that. To me it looks like a mutant freak. I do not like the big KOK flowerhorns at all. I do like some of the nice colorful flowerhorns that look like normal cichlids. To each there own though

lol

very true.

Only those in the FH hobby that are used to seeing big heads like that would like them.. They like the mutation. It is not your usual everyday fish and strange looking because the big heads make their faces look like human. The buble head is very interesting too. It expands and deflate. lol

that fh above is nice bit the head is just too big. But good shape for such a mutant.

When I first started with cichlids, I heard the FH was the most colorful cichlid fish.. Went to look for books to read on them. Then I saw a picture of a super red one in a cichlid book with a big head and I thought wtf? WTF is up with that nasty tumor? I do not want a fish like that. That's nasty!

But Now I've been in the hobby for about 5 yrs now. Im used to the big heads and need that on my FHs... It's something that grows on you when you get used to it i guess.

And when saying FH. It's like saying cichlids. FHs have a world of varieties of their own. There are super uglies and there are Super nices...

Cant judge FHs by the name.

this is the kind of fish that will make me quit the hobby forever. It is nice. I know it will cost too much and die too soon and make me hate the hobby for loosing too much money. I already did loose a few thousand to these kind of fish due to their poor health.

FHs have very poor health. Especially the super crossed ones and mutated like this one. This fish wont live long. Im sure by 2012, he'd be dead already. That's not a joke either. He'll probably die from a 25% water change. Just like that. lol that Im kidding. But I've had a FH died from a %60 water change. Again. FHs are the weakest fish in the world health-wise

Don't use the word mutated, it makes your argument/statement less valid. I do agree with you a bit.
