Any1 know alot about bichers

40 would be fine for a wc sen as well. They dont get larger than the other upper jaws.

Even if a wc upper jaw did out grow a 40 your talking yrs and yrs and yrs for that to happen. Imo the tank is fine
They get 14"...

That's the biggest shipment the guy gets.

Hendre Hendre , you keep WC sens. Here in the US, they don't exist. The CBs J jaws7777 and everyone else are thinking of are a completely different fish.
My CB does exactly the same. I keep both, I referred to both. Don't just make assuptions like that.

A 40 long has the length, but is only 12" wide. The breeder is 18" wide which is good but only 3ft long which isn't great either.

I'm sorry but I just can't agree with this

Havr you seen a 14 in sen ? Do you knkw how long it would take ?

Sizes in this section can be vastly over stated. Just because some has x fish and it grew to x size doesnt mean they all will

Sp. Delaware is 7 ish yrs old only 18ish inches while other sp.s are over 20.

Fine I concede. Maybe a CB sen will be just fine if they rarely go over 10"...

I have been shown photos of these big ones before, but maybe it takes so long anyway.

Hendre Hendre , your info is based off research, while his is based off experience. I've visited forums who's most active members - one of which had over 20k posts and was highly respected - info was based off research, and as a result a decent portion of their info was incorrect. There most active and confident member with over 20k posts was confidently giving out bad info and everyone believed him. They're even worse about large fish, getting about 90% of the info wrong. My point being, info from experience will almost always be more accurate than info from research.

I've had my 6-7" Sen for 6 months now and I don't think she's grown very much much if at all. I bought my first Sen 7.5 months ago at 2.5" and I think it just now hit 4-4.5". They grow extremely slow.

Research and an importer who happens to just bring in Senegal bichirs both captive bred and wild caught.

If my info is incorrect please, spill to me. Jaws is completely correct on the fact that fish don't always hit max size and it's true.

I am here to learn too, you have to challenge ideas, learn why they are there and the basis behind them.

And by the way, I do have actual experience with the activity levels of senegal bichirs too.

We'll see. I haven't been feeding much and I have seen a considerable increase in bulk over the past few months, this weekend I am picking up a more comprehensive diet of frozen foods and granulates from a professor I know who imports foods. We'll see.

I'm not saying you don't have experience with Sens. I have experience with Sens too, but J jaws7777 has been keeping them a lot longer than either of us, and he probably has better info than we do.
