Anybody into weight lifting/body building?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've met Vince and Chris when they came to LA, they're big don't get me wrong but they're not the tallest people.

Lol definitely. I don't even consider myself to be very tall and I'm 5'9 but they're certainly a lot heavier than me. Keith and Kevin from TMW are huge though. Tall and extremely muscular.

Overhand and wide grip if you want to build up those lats. If you wanna really hit them hard, superset wide grip pull ups, or lat pull downs, with straight arm lat pull downs. Hits the lats SUPER hard!

That's exactly what I do. Weighted pull ups, lat pull downs, straight arm lat pull downs and I'm so sore the next day. The one thing I've noticed is that on my back days I'm never sore after doing rows but every time I work back with pull ups I'm sore the next day.

Thanks! I've been trying to find lat pull ups for a while to do, couldn't find anything.

Yup, I try and go pretty wide. But after about 4 sets of that until failure I do some chin ups. It also hits the lats but mainly the biceps. I do like two sets weighted and then after that just body weight. I explode up and do a slow negative, it's a killer bicep exercise. I feel it so much more the next day than just basic curls. For biceps the most damage is actually done to the muscle on the eccentric part. But as a finisher I do some dumbbell curls. I use a really heavy weight for the first two sets and I use some moment to get up but I do a slow negative on the way down, after that I just lower the weight and do a few with perfect form.

"National chest day" sucks at the gym anyhow (Mondays), better to do legs, No lines, chit chatters, cell phoners and the like @squat racks Mondays. And I call those missed days, recovery days.

Apologies I'm that grumpy old swoll dude.

Do Wide Grip push ups and Diamond push ups benefit your chest? Can't tell if I should continue doing them or do something else, don't seem to be helping to much. But then again I was skinny to begin with...

Any type of push up will benefit your chest. Diamonds will work your inners more whereas wide stance will work the outer

+1, Yea a lot of the "old school" body weight exercises are very effective especially press ups, if you have a gym buddy you can also get them to put a weight on your back what it starts getting easier

I do diamonds, wide grips, and push ups with my arms parallel to my body (don't know their name). I am probably going to start doing clap push ups, but I think going to the gym with weights might benefit me more.
