Im tryin to get info on a permit for an african serval. I know what i need to do, but i dont know and cant find who to email to figure out where to start. I know i need 2 years of exp with one, but it has to be at a facility they approve of and i dont know which places are acceptable. I just find really any info on this. Its rediculous!!

Anyone able to help me out here?

contact your local fish and game warden is, and if they can't answer your questions I'm sure they will be able to direct you to someone who can.

Looks like thats what ill have to do. Problem is, up here, no one really knows the permit process. Its funny really

Call the USDA and speak to whoever inspects/governs USDA approved facilities in PA.......Along with State Permits/Regulations, you may need one from the USDA anyway.......

there are feline dealers in the USA. Why don't you start there, asking them the questions they should know the answers to....

im pretty sure i dont need one from them but thanks for the idea. i wont be pulling my permit anytime soon(heck after i start its gonna take over 2 years) but i want to figure out what im gonna have to do to get it and get ready.

Have you considered a savannah? :) I think they are just as cool if not more cool :D But yea servals are a owesame cat. How do you plan to keep it? If you want a in-hands cats then I defenetly recomend a savannah over a serval. Servals can be tamed but they are on the unpredictable side and you having your baby boy around that can lead to very tricky situations. But if you are ok in keeping your cat in a zoo kind of aproach, in a huge outdoor-indor enclosure (as I recomend you do), then a normal serval may just be the cat for you.

And they can't be domesticated. Even if they're raised by humans from cub to adult. At some point, when a crisis arrises, the animal will revert to what comes natural.
