Anyone else secretly bothered by cichlid misogyny? (PIC)

Since everyone wants to humanitize the fish.. and you've found a short-term fix yay!... You're borrowing time not seperateing them. or giveing them a larger tank. As soon as the male gets hungry and grouchy his only target is the female or the log she hides in... cutting a hole in the seperator may work.. though TBH why would you ever want to breed those aggressive genetics to begin with?

Im not trying to breed them, just keep them together. Were going to give him another chance. He has never left a bruise or wound, hes kind of slow.

The difference between animals and humans is that we have a soul and let our actions (some of them anyway) be controlled by moral choice.

In the animal world, only the strong survive; the weak are abused and often killed. In our world, the weak are generally protected and helped by others (those with strong morals) to live a life as full as the strong.

You know you don't have to :liar::liar::liar: . That's what secretly bothers me.

This whole thread doesn't make sense. In the first post you bragged that your big tough Kamfa is barbaric and beats her. Then when you saw people didn't think it was cool, you changed your story. Now you say they get along fine and they're a good couple.

Nice try but the title of your thread says it all. It can't be both ways. Getting along fine and being Barbaric and giving beat downs are two completely different things. This is the second time I've caught you. In the future, try to be honest with us and in all your endeavors. In the long run, you will be more happy with yourself and life in general.

I know animals are different than people but the way my male kamfa treats my female parrot is downright barbaric.

She basically cowers in her log all day except for the couple times she darts out for a speck of food before he beats her back to "her place" again. He is twice her size and a big brute. He cruises the tank all day like hes a big bad Stanley Kowalski while she cowers in hiding. The female is beaten, starved and kept in a constant state of fear and subservience.

As you can see, Im not exaggerating. You can plainly see his cocky attitude and brutish expression, while she is clearly downtrodden and keeps her sad eyes pointed down at the floor all the time.

False.

I tried a strategy that I thought of on my own without any help from the posters on this thread who kept recycling old fish tips.

Good job. Sorry our ideas weren't any good.

I think this is hilarious!!!! You are keeping 2 fish together while keeping 1 miserable 24/7- but yet, you bashed and hounded on someone who kept a baby octo in a 5 gallon bucket. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Maybe you should put the divider in and take out ALL decorations- then no one can claim territory. That's how I have my SA/CA cichlids successfully together. (midas, jag, FH, RT, RTM) The only "decoration" is rocks with caves big enough for the bichirs, but not the fish.
