From what it sounds definately dont go for lockers. For ligit lockers your looking at around 700 a pop, and puttin lockers in your axles would break them. I dont know how devoted you are to wheelin, but there are ways to get bigger tires without sacrificing safeness. (tube fenders, Full width axles). Another option you could do if yur interested is go for a limited slip which is kinda a half locker but still normal on-road characteristics (not too durable tho). Your axles are a dana 30 in the front its a legit light duty axle, in the rear u either have a dana35 which is a pile of crap or the chrystler 8.25 which isnt quite as bad.

And so ya know. You can buy a lockrite for the rear. and you wont have ANY problems. buddys have been running them for years. As for the front buy an aussie locker. Great warranty. And you wont have problems. we run that same setup with 33s. You will be fine. And yes you have a 30 up front and like bidred said. A 35 or 8.25 in the rear. Both will be fine for what your doing.

Nice Yoda. They shouldn't even make lockers for dana 35's. They are about as strong as wet toilet paper. They can't handle tires over 31's and a locker would twist the shafts into pretzels in a week.

DO not get a auto locker!! a auto locker will not only destroy your tires (they spin the same seed even around turns) and they will pull apart your ring gear. Also, i wont be able to drive the jeep in winter with a auto locker. If your stuck on getting a locker look into a ford 8.8 rear axle, they got disc breaks and sometimes 4.10 gears. I cannot stress enuff how u should not get a locker in the Dana 35, that axle can barely hold up to the motor right off the factory!

btw..pounder, very nice truck, Im contimplating getting 38 inch claws myself!

Hey. An auto locker will only hurt the tires IF you give it gas around a turn. They ratchet so they will Un-lock around turns. And My one friend has had his Dana 35 with welded spiders for 40000 miles now with 32inch tsls. And his tires are fine. And he beats the crap outta it all the time. So its really hard to say whats good and whats not. And the ring gear will be fine man. My old jeep had the stock dana 35. With 3.23 gears and it had welded spiders for 2 years and about 25k on the streets. And never had ONE problem with the axle. RIght now I have a Toyota with a spool and an aussie. With 35inch tires. And never had one problem. And i beat the crap outta that thing.

some pics of my little beast. Has 4.7.1 in the t-case built 22r aussie in front spool in rear with 4.88s thing will go right up a wall. Point and go.

a toyota has a stronger axle then the jeep. Going around corners is going to still be teeth jarring even if gas is not applied. It is not worth running a locker in the D35, and if u must just upgrade to the super35 kit which gives u more splines, bigger ring gear and stronger shafts, but it might as well just be a bandaid, From what it sounds like you should just run what u got, maybe a small body lift (no more then a inch n a half) and maybe cut ur fenders a smidge. Also, if you wanna improve your offroad performance, get a pair of sway bar disconnects, allows a ton of travel in the front and u wont sacrifice rollover rate (on the road) and they are cheap.
