Been stuck in MUD and deep snow (due to axles bottoming out) Would love a solution - do not want larger tires - I enjoy my 25 mpg with the Cherokee. Do lockers help out here?

Winch, and carry around an engineer steak and sledge incase no trees around. :naughty:

Hey - what's an engineer steak and sledge?

Can you recommend a winch? The ones I've seen have been downright skimpy and too short ;) This is a JEEP we are talking about, so if I get stuck, it is always too far away from trees or solid ground if you know what I mean. Example, I got stuck in the middle of a pond one time, and you know there's nothing you can do about it.

Any warn winch bigger then 9k will work good on a Jeep. Also a Hi-lift, best invention of all time. Where in NH do you wheel?

What kind of price range would I be looking for, at a warn winch of approx 10-12,000 lbs? What's a hi-lift? Also, I would like a ballpark figure on good quality lockers. (What are good ones anyway?) (None of those Ford axles or other Sh-t.)
There's this place with some trails near Newington, NH (I think? Or Fremont?) I can't even remember. If you know of some places, I'd love to know about them.

hahaha i think u thinkin of Route 87, there are horror stories about that place...i burried my jeep past my hood in muck took 2 days to haul it out. The price for that winch depends if u have like the remote, length cable etc. id say between 600-1100. Since u got a jeep i would hiiighly recomend a hi lift, its as good as a jack (a little more tricky) but for 50 bucks its worth it
