anyone into 4wheelin???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Holy cow - gotta see THAT in action...

Ah yes, a hi-lift. Don't think it works with the Cherokee bumper though. I have a 2 foot jack though.

What about lockers?

wat do you have for axles, how big r ur tires and how often u drive it on road. You can buy hi lift mounts, mount on roof hood hinges etc

Hey - this is my daily driver with pushing 236,000 miles - I drive it about 60,000 miles every year, and I take it OFF road maybe once a month or every other month. My tires are beefy Definity Dakota HT's - but still 15's. I do not want to lose my 25 mpg, nor do I want to increase chances of rolling over.
I have stock axles - whatever those are. (1999 Cherokee Sport) Dana 44's?????

From what it sounds definately dont go for lockers. For ligit lockers your looking at around 700 a pop, and puttin lockers in your axles would break them. I dont know how devoted you are to wheelin, but there are ways to get bigger tires without sacrificing safeness. (tube fenders, Full width axles). Another option you could do if yur interested is go for a limited slip which is kinda a half locker but still normal on-road characteristics (not too durable tho). Your axles are a dana 30 in the front its a legit light duty axle, in the rear u either have a dana35 which is a pile of crap or the chrystler 8.25 which isnt quite as bad.

Hey - what's an engineer steak and sledge?

Can you recommend a winch? The ones I've seen have been downright skimpy and too short ;) This is a JEEP we are talking about, so if I get stuck, it is always too far away from trees or solid ground if you know what I mean. Example, I got stuck in the middle of a pond one time, and you know there's nothing you can do about it.

A big *** hammer !! and a pole to stake into the ground when their are no trees !!

actualy doing that can be terrible for the winch. Your pulling but since the cable will be hooked so low to the ground the winch will have to fight the suspensions as well, not to mention if your in a lake or gunky mud its gonna need to be a BF pole, and u always risk having it rip outta the ground

I have an 06 Ram 4x4, K&n, Flowmasters, throtle body, gps, remote start etc...

Dont laugh, it still has stock tires. ha ha ha Why would they sell a 4x4 with road tires ? my truck is beautiful cept for the little doughnuts.

suprisingly iv never gotten her stuck. ( i carry 2x4x6' in the bed just incase)

i just ordered a flowmaster and i think i will get the K&N intake next. how much of a difference did it make for you?

^ first is the noise. I recomend instaling the intake and exhaust at the same time, this way you have a better chance of seeing a diference.

By allowing your engine to breathe better, you do two things-save fuel, if you go easy on the throtle, OR- consume even more fuel than before if you have a lead foot.

the power is noticible (maybe 5-10 hp on a good day), but not much, unless you get a programer as well.

Any warn winch bigger then 9k will work good on a Jeep. Also a Hi-lift, best invention of all time. Where in NH do you wheel?

so ya know.. You can get away with a 6k. I know tons of locals with 6-8k winches on jeeps.. never have a problem. Hey Jude.. get a Tmax or a warn.. the other will only burn out.
