wow theres some people on here really trying to express their feelings and have somewhat of an intellectual discussion on a controversial topic, then there are a few others just spouting off random stupid sh*t trying unsuccessfully to get the rest to pay attention to them.....how sad 
I suppose just as some people like to hear themselves speak,others get some satisfaction at seeing a post and knowing they typed it......
As for my own opinion I try steer clear of discussions on religion,although I can kinda relate to some of the stuff del was saying.

How you read the bible and what information you get from it is NOT right and everyone else is wrong. The bible is read as a point of view text, meaning any number of people can read a single line of text and come to a logical point of view and NOT be wrong. Your brother explaining the bible is only his inturpretation of it and is not the only inturpretation that is possible. Who are you to say you know what is right or wrong in the bible. Also just the fact that you reffer to the old testimate but use the term christian is laughable as the term christian was not known to be used until the new testimate was written. And an eye for and eye doesn't always work, the old testimate is not relivent in todays society (nor is the new imo)

jesus was born a Jew, doesn't that make the Jewish religion the true/original relgion and make jesus at desserter?
