Aro tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is what I stated before it's the norm to keep Asian aros in a 4x2x2 in asia this doesn't mean it's right but it happens all the Tim but Asian aros are a bit different to SA aros

Let's look say 5 years back thousands of black and silver aros must haven sold as aros have always been a popular fish the aros sold 5 years ago must all be hitting 3ft now but were are they now

Thousands of SA aros are being sold now to people with 100 gal tank and the people buying them are all to fast to give out advice on tank size and say they will upgrade when needed I can guarantee that about 10% of the aro keepers may set up a big tank for the aro what happens to the other 90%

What makes me sick are the jokers who come on here and say I don't keep aros but I think they would need a 12x6x3 I say if you don't keep a certain type of fish then they are in no position to comment

So, then until I actually moved my silver aros to the 450g tank, I was a "joker"? Because I did recommend large 300 plus gallon tanks before I owned one.

And you think a 450 is big enough 4 SA aros you must be a joker because that made me lol

Obviously you didn't read my post :duh:

I have my 24" jardini in an 8 ft diameter x 2ft deep tank, and my 8" silver arowana in a 6x3x2 tank. The jardini uses every inch of the tank to swim around.

4x3=12, and 4x1=4. 12x4, and then a height of about 3', although 30" would work.
Do you know how unrealistic it is to actually get one to 4'? I'm pretty sure the record wild specimen was still a bit short of the 4' mark.

Have you seen a 10 year old silver I have and it was well over 3ft

No, I don't as I have already stated.

Actually I think my tank was great for 3 arowana but a little cramped for the four of them. Hoping in the future to be able to split the two pairs into two separate tanks, plus add a third black aro.

96" x 36" x 30"

Well that's to small for 2 silvers that's a good size for a rtg

The length is good but whe width is to small
You need 4ft wide
