So you want to wait for people to happen across this thread in order for them to chime in on how big their aros are before proper advice can be given?

I disagree. Hence, go start a thread if you want to know.

I don't get your point, knowing the size of captive arowanas will help know their proper tank size requirements. Without proper information on actual size, no one can give tank requirements. Both go hand in hand, unless your saying that we don't need do know the size of the fish to know how to house them?

You don't get my point? Your question is lost in the middle of this thread. That's my point. Care to argue some more about my decision?

You're a mod, so you can delete my posts, ban me whatever.

I'm just simply saying that until we find out the actual size of the said fish in this discussion, no one can give proper tank size requirements.

THe title "aro tank size" is very vague as there are many species of arowanas. Just trying to elaborate a little on the topic as not everyone keeps the same species.

And I'm just trying to keep the threads on track so that when people look for or contribute information, it can be done more accurately. This is a big problem in this folder. I'm trying to help you, not knock you.

I understand that and I'm not trying to be a jerk (the first statement in my last post was the truth, you can do with my posts what you want).

The OP asked about aro tank size. Was he referring to asians, silvers, blacks jars? They grow to be different sizes and grow at different rates and immediatly people are throwing out numbers.

I'm trying to learn here as well and without specific information, how do I know how to correctly house my fish? I'm just trying to get more exact information, that's all.

Creepy you have a point as arowana tanks size is determined by how big aro's get. Chakita's point is not that this info wouldn't be beneficial, it's that a new thread with the question in the title would bring better results in obtaining this info. Many people have replied to this thread and will not read agian, they may have the info your looking for but have already moved on.

I myself can only recall a couple of 3 footers on MFK.

I had 9 12 inch Asian aros in a 350 gal which I sold off 1 by 1 as they grew

Your past threads show other then you claim.
You have 4 what size SA aros in what size tank now ?

Again, you need to learn to read, as this info has already been stated in this thread.

In my 350 gal the water looked spotless and crystal clear the vid of you 4 aro com doesn't look that great

Again your past threads show otherwise. My tank the water shows cloudiness, as your do. With mine the water does not appear that way in person and water params checked our after the video. Next time, video will be taken after a change of the filter floss in my sump, maybe this will help. I'm sure you have an excuse for yours too.

My Asian aro com was going into a 8x6 at some point the aros I had would max out in size of 2 foot yours will max out at 3rd + in a 8x3

What is "3rd +"?

I had a change in direction and yeas your right decided to sell all mine and stuck with 1 aro

You are moving your 2 silvers to a 8x3 which is still to small so what's the point in upgrading

Who said I was moving to another 8x3? The next tank I buy will be a 10'x30"x30". This will happen after I moved all my existing tanks into a new fishroom in the basement. BTW I have a 2100 sq ft unfinished basement, more the enough room for a possible indoor pond. :P

Asian aros need to be packed in to make it work which you would know after keeping so many Asian aros

Yes I have heard this following all your threads with all your community troubles. Seems you've finally have given up on that quest.

Your previous 84x32x30"

Your claim is that the dat is 15-16" at the time of this pic. Looks to me that all 7 aros are as big as if not bigger. Far from a foot long. Cloudy water too, maybe it's the current?

TIKP1040549.jpg

Hmmm...less stock, less current, still cloudy. IDK why:confused:

you have proved my point the tank was to packed but i was tring to get a pair which you have shown in the 2nd pic

2 x 2ft asian aros in a 84x32 is fine

you are moving 2 silvers into a 96x36 whats the point silvers need 48 wide min as its just not right them having to bend to turn

thanks for showing the pics as it proves my point the other aros were going into a 1000 gal but i changed my mind and just kept a pair but that pair didnt work so im now down to 1 aro in a 8x6 but even if i had kept all the aros in the 1st pic they would have been fine in a 8x6

thanks for showing the pics as even with all the aros in yje tank my water was still 10 x better than yours :)

both the pics shown were will a crappy nan light which makes the water look murky as you are so good at finding my picsfind one without the nan light

You two guys are nuts. So much knowledge and so much anger.

Cut the crap, please.
