Yeah I was thinking of videoing my schoutdeni trying to catch one, but I really don't like subjecting people to that and it's pretty sad she misses 99% of the time.

Personally I don't mind live feeding, I've done it myself and always will but it's only a treat to the fish every so often not their main diet. Only had a couple handfuls of fish that we strict fed live to.
And I can't say that it would be the puffers fault for missing either. I had a green spot for a few months and he kept missing snails even, never appeared to have good sight while the lights were on full blast during the day. He seemed like it was easier to see during night rather then the day for him to see. Atleast he missed them less often when the light were dimmer.
She doesn't understand them yet. It's funny you can see she's frustrated. She's fine when I drop them in and she is able to grab it before it gets oriented.
It would probably work a lil easier for her if ya clipped the tail paddles off em before dropping em in, atleast then they wouldn't be able to jet away.
Honestly she eats frozen krill and jumbo mysis and snails with no problem, so I don't even need to feed them to her. I just need a way to control the population until I make the 100% final decision on what's going in the 180. Like I said I was breeding them for a future fahaka that someone was getting rid of. That fell through. Obviously I could get another easily enough but if the 180 is going to be my Tang tank I won't have room for one atm.
This tank I used a brand of bacteria I haven't used before from a company called tlc it was recommended by an lfs I've been going to for over 30 years. It's stuff they use and have just started selling retail. Seems to have worked great as I used no cycled media and tested twice daily. Never saw any ammonia or nitrite of any concern. Day 3 nitrates started to creep up. Started the tank with 10 pea puffers and 6 chili rasboras. I threw in a hand full of tiny snails and crayfish babies. The wood is something I've had for years it was in another tank years ago, surprised it's still leaching tannins. I think I lost 1 of the pea puffers at some point within the first couple of days. I think I count 9 two of which are definitely male.
I believe I was correct that I do have two male pea puffers and I think the other 8 are female. Yup all 10 are still alive! I had to take everything out though to catch the crayfish as two have gotten huge. It's back together and I did a little redecorating...lol. I did a water change after that where all the bubbles came from.
Looking for a taller plant for the far back...maybe red? Needs to probably be a lower light plant and I'm not using fertilizers. Any ideas?
