arowana brings bad luck?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
luck and bad luck for that matter is just a piece of ______! whatever happens to your fish, it happened for a reason.... its all superstition, for example, keeping turtles here is said to bring you bad luck...and THAT IS NOT THE CASE IN THE US RIGHT?!!! so luck is based on your culture, i had 3 aros and they died because of my limited knowledge at that time and inexperience...although they say that i should not keep aros again I WILL! but not right now...im not ready yet and when i m ready il make sure that everything will be right this time.....

Forgive me if this has already been said but I was once told by a lady (Asian in origin) that if a arowana jumps out of the tank and dies its sacrificing itself in hopes to protect you from bad luck.

So I guess it depends on how your aro's died. xD

whats with all this tread????bad luck?I rather believe in a good luck

The Chinese are a very supersticious race, have been for thousands of years.
Some of the thoughts posted here, would be a minority opinion in the far east.

I dont speak sarcastically about it, cause I respect the culture, I am Chinese myself, born an lived in uk.

I know of a few friends/relatives in HK, who owned and raise Asian arro successfully(no deaths) and yes, you could say by coincidence or superstician, that they are now very prosperous and wealthy.

Notwithstanding that, just a few examples doesn't mean it will apply to everyone. And not everyone who has a stunning Asian arro is really prosperous or lucky.

Well, for one I will encourage people to pick up arowana keeping as a hobby. If one want to take it as a kinda item which should bring you good luck then it will be very stressful to own even one arowana.

To all arowana owners, as long as you take good care of your aros dont worry. If it dies it's because it absorbed your bad luck. Aros that died due to neglect or poor care is a different story you might have bad luck in your pocket getting a new one :). So if you lost one dont fret and get a new one it spreads good luck to the sellers.

I believe it. I had an jar die no me. Couldn't find it anywhere I thought someone stole him. Then I found him under the coffee table--few days later. He jumped out and wiggled very far. That was a bad year.
