Arowanna killer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Putting aros in a 150 without any tank mates sounds great, but it seems to me I'll have to have loaches and plecos fot janitorial duty. So, that's where we're at. 1 weather loach. one debuoise cat. One stripped loach. Two plecos. Waiting for arowana.

you always need 2 filters!!! When you clean your filter you lose a good portion of your good bio matter. When you have 2filters you clean 1 filter at a time to keep tank stable. Your filter is also maxed out at your size tank. Dont ask for help if your not willing to listen. Do some more research.

keep what you got now and either buy a second one or add a hang on filter like a aqua clear 110. I have 2 canister filters on my 55g!

i dont understand how an aro can fast for 3 days and die from starvation? my black aro didnt eat for two weeks when i first bought him!

Yesterday I installed a valve to the intake of the filter so I can drain water from the tank without disturbing fish. I still vacuum every week though. Pain in the ass with all the plants. I have an old 85 that I'm going to use just for growing plants. I can take the canister filter from that.
The plants won't need it. I took water to LFS. They test for free, just to see if my tests are accurate. They said my water is "Ideal". Neither me nor my wife are home during the day, so most of the time it's very peaceful in the fish room. I believe the best thing I can do is get a bigger one from a different store. Have them hold it for two weeks to be sure it's healthy.

Ya i would start with a silver 7" or larger. I have my first Aro, a silver for about 4 months now with now problems.
