Its all preference. Its unfair to say that one style of fishkeeping is "cruel" or "wrong" without sufficient evidence.

Perhaps if all the fish in an "asian style" tank freaked out at once and the tank exploded sending glass shards every where other then that i'm not sure how someone will get hurt either

Are you assuming everyone defending "asian style" practices it themselves? If you test your water, you should know if you are in control...As long as you are in control of your tanks, there is nothing anyone can say that makes what you are doing wrong........

If you know your water is good, you are a conscientious fish keeper. But did you know that almost every person I encounter at a Petco or Petsmart still thinks cycling means running the filter for a day or two with the tank empty? Those people come here, see these ideas and DO IT, without understanding their water. That's my concern. There. I said it yet again.

Name some names.....Who the hell thinks that is how you cycle a filter? I think you are not give the hobby credit for passing you by. Keep things how you want. Why are you even the least bit concerned about someones water, if you are not going to help them make it better? I think this is a good thread, but you are making it seem like we are ALL retards....Trust me...If a retard put that many fish in any tank, they would be dead in a week.
