Even though I'm not a fan of the asian aros. Just my opinion.

But I think that the government should make them legal in the cold winter states. And make it illegal if you live in a warm state or are trying to transport it to a warm state.
Whats the difference? The main point of the ban is to preserve the specie, they're not banning it cuz they're scared people will start dumping in lakes to breed them...

They are preserved, any Asian Arowana you buy was bred at a fish "Farm". They aren't wild caught anymore, so what are they preserving? That's why every other country is letting them in, they aren't wild caught. They have gone as far as micro chipping them. If there is no microchip it is wild, and illegal. Correct me if I am wrong but the ban sounds pretty dumb to me...

I have seen this guy on aquabid and from what I gather, he may be legit... stupid, but legit. I agree with the idea that feds are gonna wait till he's sold a few to get him. BTW: I know that a few months back, china town in NYC was the place to find them, but recently, that is not the case. People have told me that none of the fish stores in NYC want to risk it anymore after a particularly big bust that happened not too long ago.. anyone have any info on that?

I haven't heard anything about that. Interesting though. So there are actual people out there inspecting ppl's fish...that cracks me up!

there are particular reasons why your country banned the asian arowanas from entering your country, it is easy to put a chip at any kind of arowanas.

One of the nicest asian arros in the US is owned by a member here, he is in Texas and posts pics from time to time.

undercovers can only try to buy they cannot sell personally from buying it themselves..otherwise its a form of entrapment. anyhow undercovers are not trying to look for buyers that are interested in just 1...

Thats a very naive statement. Of course LEOs can pose as sellers, and they absolutely will take action against an individual with a single specimen. how do you think they get info about the "big fish"? they dont put the squeeze on their dry cleaners, they put pressure on the customers, starting from the bottom up.

I suppose you also think
you can just ask them if they are LEO, because if they are they have to tell you....

And what do you propose for states that have both climates, like CA?

As for the original topic, selling asian aros on aquabid is just plain stupid. Everyone knows Craigslist is the way to go......
