Smiths aquarium in Boondall is awesome for cichlids.

Anyway, I have a question.
My lfs (smiths) has just gotten in four Datnoids, they are priced at $800 each.. are they usually this expensive?

went there aswell, didn't like them because they're pretty expensive, although, they have ALOT of monsters.

best for in newcastle and lake macquarie
saltwater: all about fish, krempins, tanks
monsters and oddballs: omalleys
coldwater non-native: krempins, petstock (both of them)
general community fish: crossroads
natives: used to be all about fish, but now krempins
hard to find fish: krempins
trade-ins: all about fish
discus: crossroads, all about fish, anipet (outrageously cheap)
african cichlids: all about fish, crossroads, omalleys (have hard to find ones)
cheap fish: anipet
cheap food/chemicals: petbarn warners bay
cheap brand name tanks (aqua one etc): crossroads, crempins
cheap pine tanks: omalleys, krempins, crossroads (cheap but small range)
display tanks: crossroads, omalleys, tanks, all about fish
plants: crempins, crossroads, all about fish,

apparently crossroads is moving. don't know where.

and about the fish banning thing. some people are saying that it will go through in january, others say that it will take a few years, and a few say it will never happen (the au koi forum admin).

Thought I'd make my first MFK post here, seems fitting, anyways I recently bought a 250G tank to expand my Mbuna community and add some larger Malawi Haps.

Thus far I have added Nimbochromis Venustus and Protomelas Spilonotus. I'm now on the look out for Dimidiochromis strigatus or Dimidiochromis kiwinge.

Welcome to MFK mate, sounds like a nice collection of fish you have there.

G'day all.

Northside Brisbane, Caboolture area. My only two fish I would regard as monsters are 2 baysnooks. On the 5 inch mark allready!

I've been to Smiths too. I'm loving that big as Clown Knife, it's a good 80cm! That where I first got my snooks from.

Yeah yellow or white is pretty much invisible in the light skin. :(

Just snapped a couple of quick pics of the 80g before the lights went out. Don't say anything about the dirty glass!!

Tank:

14" ornate didn't really want to pose for a photo:

The loach hotel with my camera-shy big dat in the background:

The smallest of the three dats, he's got a split bar on the other side but (of course) didn't want to show it:

Thats a really nice set of fish and tank!
