I've not read of any breeding habits documented on aimara. And since they live in mostly areas with current, idk if they form a pair like other hoplias are known to such as malabaricus. Malas stay together and defend the baby, I believe the female usually patrols a little more and the male stays next to the babies; or maybe it's the other way around... Aimaras are said to also be caught in calm waters, to me it'd make sense they go there to breed since I don't think rapids is a place for baby aimara, and from the vids on YouTube, I don't see much space for two large aimara to be next to eachother with a bunch of fry.
