i know jardinis are agressive but i read that datnoids are good tankmates w jar when there both young , so i bought my first datnoid that did get along with evil jar but i returned him because he was very dull and had lots of missing stripes. found another one in china town very stable and yellow but time jardini is not too happy??

Probably the Jar is jealous that the new datnoid is prettier than him :ROFL::ROFL:

Basically what jlnguyen have said.

I am trying the samething right now but I also have 2 JD's, an ornate birchir and a pbass in with them. I just added the pbass 2 days ago and he is 2 or 2.5".

I asked for good tankmates to go with my datnoids and everyone was hinting towards arow and pbass so I picked the one's I liked the most. I had 5 dats at one time now I have 1.

I have a huge piece of driftwood in my tank that has a huge hole in the middle which is where he stays(in 1 of my threads). Him and the jardini never mess with each other. He's my favorite fish. He's an NTT that is always stable. But I like my jardini just as much and will do anything to suit him. Seeing I bought 2 in 2 seperate days. The first one got ate, then I went and got the other one they had the following day. So he's my $90 arowana.:nilly:

My jardini dont like my male EBJD so I am getting rid of him(comes to find out he's sterile).

My female JD is beautiful. I call her princess. She gets the 75 when I can add the 8" p-bass thats in there now. She and the jardini never get into it either. But she is the boss of the tank right now.

Try to keep your fish off feeder. Give him live or frozen blood worms as starter, and eventually get him on market shrimp. You're asking for trouble, if you give your fish live feeders :D BTW, the aro swim up and down the tank could be due to lack of tank space (divided) Let them free to greet and meet each other! ;)

they have already met eachother jardini sorda wanna bully it because datnoid always swimming in his space do you think they will get along after i let them fight it out for a bit. but not to the point where its gunna get out of control??

whats trouble with gf feeders? diseases, faster dirty water do to scales? will uneaten blood worms or shrimp affect any of water perams?? how long should i not feed my fishes in order for them to accept other food.

*sigh* have you read the million-page sticky thread at the top about keeping tankmates with jardinis?

The thread should have ended after this post:

a jar at 5" wont stay 5" for long in 2 or 3 months the jat will be 7-8" ant the dat will still be 4"
the jar will outgrow the dat then kill it
jar are very fast growing and aggressive
dats are very slow growing

If you're going to try to mix them it'll have to be when they're both bigger because they have very different growth rates. Separate them now before you lose the dat. End of discussion.
