This last turtle is not an alligator snapping turtle. It is a Chelidra Serpentina, much more dangerous than the alligator because this one is an active hunter as opposed to the alligator who is an ambush hunter.

Chelidra Serpentina's also grow vey fast , opposed to Alligators ( who get bigger but take ages to get there )..

No my friend. Yours is a Common Snapper, aka Chelidra Serpentina. A much more complicated beast to maintain considering that it is an active hunter ( and your hand is prey ). Chelidra even catch duck and geese at the surface of lakes and pull them down, eating them.....You should keep it in a pond. The size yours is will allow it to leave for quitre some time in a good sized tank..I had one for 2 years in a 1,5 metres long tank....

G luck
