Baby ST making a comeback?

Right I have now read this thread from start to finish as I'm in hospital and not had time before

1. Anyone who can't tell a ST from IT shouldn't be paying $400 for

2. No point in keep posting pics of old small ST as anyone intrested in real ST already knows how to tell them apart

3. If the fish for sale are being called ST that alone is a lie as they don't come out of thialand meaning they can't be real ST if they did come out of thialand someone if braking the law

4. For me they are IT for sure the middle bar not going to a point is not consistent in all of them and the last bar has the bump at the top

5. If people want to think they have got their hands on some baby ST but there would always be a dought in my mind if they were ST or not

More options can be thought of if you were out to triple your money on a bunch of indos fish have been tattooed in the past what's to say that someone hasn't grabbed some high grade 3 bar indos and with a quick mod to the tail stripe someone has mad a $50 fish into a $400 fish anything is possible as I have seen tattooed parrot fish sell for $50 so it would be worth someones time and effort this is probably not the case but demand is so high for ST who knowss

I remember a year or 2 back someone said he could breed ST easy with hormones but there wouldn't be that high enough demand :ROFL:

I don't think they are being captive bred or why would the sellers not say captive bred you would stand more chance of people believing they are captive bred than wild caught

WHO CARES IT OR ST buy them if you want

This is a point that has been raised before but still seems to be missed by many here......Get well.
 
ST, VT, CT or IT. Don't matter to me. The fish I bought is 100% stable. I have yet to see it not. The head is a bit higher than the IT's I now have and the wide bars look cool. I'm just trying to fatten it up as it was wild caught and was fed feeders. So far it's munching down blood worms. Some day I'll get a MFK approved ST then we can all be happy:D

Prskiller... No need to get mfk approved ST, get one which u approve of and be happy, like the one you recently aquired.

This thread is very good read. Lots of attention to detail for identifying widebars.
 
3 bar IT or ST they are both nice and i would have both in my tank

put a nice stable 3 bar IT in your tank that you paid $100 for and one of the fake ST that you paid $400 for and your Friends come around and you tell them how much you paid for each of them they will :ROFL::ROFL:at you as they wont care which is which as the differences are so small

its just a status thing look at my ST wow who care ST or IT

8 x nice stable 3 bar IT for $800 or 2 x fake ST for $800 doesn't take much working out what to buy
 
a stable 24-7 IT is good enough for me :D

As other people said , being happy with the fish it's all that matters...... but from a vendor perspective, calling an IT an ST can be perceived as false advertising and that's not cool.
 
Right I read in this thread that mike at h20 brought 40 of the ST look a likes

He says he THINKS they are real and he's going to grow them out to see

But without dissing mike they are not rays and how often do we ever see him in the tiger/dat part of this forum
