It seems that a lot of folks are hung up on ST or CT or controversial or whatever. I will keep it simple and say that the two dats in the video are definitely two very nice d. pulcher.

As karun pointed out it's very unlikely you'll find a real ST because the last ones were caught in Thailand over 10 years ago now. Chances are all pulchers (unless massive) are either Cambodian or Vietnamese pulchers.

Blacktip what's you view on them being available in the US in greater numbers and cheaper than they are available for in SEA?
Why is it reported that Japanese buyers have snapped them up when ever they're caught at source for far greater money that they're reportedly being sold to the final customer 7000 miles away from source, but still the suppliers at source think it's a better idea to take less money for them by sending them through a supply chain that end up in the US?
I'm not having a go, i just can't figure this part out.

Okay.Be it from Cambodia or Thailand or Vietnam a pulcher is a pulcher, nothing else.So what are the differences in the geographical variants?

Very interesting and hard points to argue against......I understand that the Thai pulchers are fished out and all gone but what about the pulchers from the other locations mentioned, what are their discription characteristics and how hard are they to come by?

Just curious, is this a ST with a IT tail or a nice 3 bar IT?

Here's some old pictures from Aquabonito's site. Can you spot the differences between their Chao Praya and Mekong Pulchers? **6 total stripes in the Chao Praya dats, 7 total stripes in the Mekong dats**

Chao Praya (Thailand)

And these two are labeled as Indo dats on their site. Is this what we have being sold today? Those 'perfect' 3-bar indos?

The tail markings have obvious differences: 2 bars for Mekong, one for Chaopraya.

That would also make the one posted by Prskiller a "Mekong" (if pulcher) or a 3bar IT, if microlepis

I think after all of this I'll just reclassify my ST/IT/CT as MT, My Tiger. :D
:ROFL:Ha ha at least that clears it up for you.

So do ALL Chao Praya dats have the same tail stripe pattern with no variation?

I don't think we can say 'all'. There will always be an oddball. But for the most part, the Chao Praya pulcher will show that same tail pattern. There's also some very old threads on WW, lot's of good in them.
