If I might chime in to offer a thought.

One bad apple does not spoil the tree. Please do not allow the shortcoming of one person to cause you to see everyone else with the same tinted glasses of your experience with a bad apple.

For example up here in saskatchewan, I am getting ready to put out something for the canadian fish keepers, I just want to make sure that I have my ducks all in a row. I will not name names, but, in my time here on mfk and ac, I have spoken with more than a few "vendors" or "other sources" about the american side of what I am trying to set up so that I can bring things up to canada. I want to make sure that when it comes time to roll out that I have a solid endeavour to roll out.

It is such a shame to see what looks to be such a sham go down, but please don't allow it pervert your total view of things like this.

I would say this though, circumspection is the best friend you have in regards to how you deal with things that would part you from your greenery. The age old adage of TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, is usually just that to good to be true.

There are some very bad things that happen in the ways of scams on the internet, like that time my distant friend from africa had 110 million dollars for me ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

If people have been burned because the op has been shang hai'd by the supposed supplier give the op some grace and space, from what I read he is doing his best to make it right.

Paypal will do nothing to help you if your purchase is not through ebay better luck with your with credit card company, I got scammed my a member here and paypal did nothing.

That statement is 100% false. I bought some wheels for my 03 neon from a guy on a neon forum and paid through paypal. They refunded all of my money to me. It had nothing to do with ebay and I didnt use my credit card. It was linked to my bank account.

I think it is great that the OP is trying to sell things on ebay/craiglist to make things right.

I just wanted to point out that if anyone sent money via paypal+credit card, you are protected and will be refunded on the spot since there is no way that the op can prove documentation of the buyer recieving items. For those who paid with a cc, the solution is one phone call to your cc company.

I always thought if you use a bank debit card with the Visa logo, the bank will investigate claims and disputes if you used your bank debit card for a purchase through paypal.

Caveat emptor on all transactions. Wouldn't it make sense if you simply review the marketplace feedback first before transacting with a vendor? I think everyone must be vigilant on transactions. If you have a negative experience, give him a negative feedback for that and PM neoprodigy so he can be informed of the developments especially if this involves someone who frequently uses this forum for his personal business.

There is low tolerance here for scamming, flaking and the like that negatively derail a transaction but all the same, we warn buyers to be careful whom to deal with. Report those issues to staff. We will see what could be done and in the meantime, use the feedback system. The transactions are meant to be private.

Mods here are neutral. We don't take sides of either party involved.

That would be a perfect world.

Perhaps, I should have clarified that IF this involves a commercial vendor whose negative feedback is piling up already, then the best approach is report to Neo, Deathcurl or any of the Buy and Sell staff immediately. Benzjamin13, mike dunagan, vanimate, Reefscape, the globals such as Gr8KarmaSF and Oddball, and the rest of the mods are around the clock. If in doubt who is online, contact the one you see online and he will relay it to the staff for discussion. I should have said it doesn't have to be Neo necessarily although he also handles issues like this and ultimately decides what needs to be done.

What do you mean the truthful negative threads disappear? They are categorized as derails and warrant deletion. They are not rightly put there as stated in the rules. We have rules against trainwrecking the threads with feedbacks that do not reflect to the original post asking for sales. Put your negative feedback in the feedback system, not the thread. It will not be deleted.

To be honest, and after thinking about it, how can true facts be a derailment when you are talking about facts that pertain directly to the SELLER? He is the center of the thread, he is selling fish, any derogatory information pertaining to seller should not be considered derailing, but an ENHANCEMENT to the thread.

If the information is presented in a non accusatory fashion, strictly as an information statement, these types of comment would help inform buyers. Obviously the marketplace feedback is not working, listen to all the complaints on TOM, but look at his feedback.

I have always said that the truth, though sometimes painful, is the best. And I have had several of my statements, truthful though they may be, have been deleted. Just because derailments are no allowed, maybe you should look at what is truly a derailment and what should be considered and enhancement.

Thanks for the help everyone im starting to get everything put together which is great, lapd gave me 2 numbers which i called and explained the story to them. I've also talked with a lawyer on my options
