BAN ON REPTILES?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I ask EVERY SINGLE MFK MEMBER AS WELL AS THEIR FAMILYS, FRIENDS,ETC that sees this, if ever this thing apears, to do what ever it takes to STOP IT! ITS OUR HOBBY AND THE LIFE AND WELL BEING OF MILLIONS OF ANIMALS THAT IS AT STEAK! You may not like big snakes or what ever but if this ever passes, the rest of herps will soon follow, then exotics, birds, FISH and God knows what more:irked: DONT LET THIS BE THE LAST GENERACION TO ENJOY PRIVATLY RETICULATED PYTHONS, GREEN IGUANAS ,VARANIDS AND SO MANY MORE INCREABLE ANIMALS THAT MAY BE GONE FROM OUR HANDS FOR EVER:( It would be a sad lonely world for me if I could only see green iguanas thrue a thick glass wall in a zoo:(

I highly doubt this will happen in the lower 48, they have applied good measures by requiring permits for large constrictors in most states already, but thats not an all out ban. I agree with it and think it should be applied, this will help in the amount that are murdered every year by ignorant people. Now only QUALIFIED people can own larger constrictors and nile monitors in Fl. I hope this is the quo for the rest of the country.

If your still allowed to keep them with a licence which is attainable without rediculous ammounts of interigation then its a good idea but banning them alltogether i think is just stupid!

what about all the large scale breeders out there with thousands of animals? brian barczyk, ralph davis, bob clark, tom crutchfeild..etc..

this is a BS ban made by people who know absolutely nothing about herps. if this whole thing started because of the everglades pythons and igs..then ban them in florida..not the entire united states..and certainly not lizards that grow to 2 feet..thats laughable. that would make water dragons and larger bearded dragons banned..who are they going to hurt?

Hmm....while i agree its bad for us but not necessarily the animals. I bet for every properly cared for aquatic turtle more is being sold at a flea market or china town to die in a bowl for a few months. :irked:

My thoughts....make it a permit only basis. Weed out those who will ultimately be irresponsible.

Is this Ban only supposed to affect U.S.A? Hopefully we don't don't adopt it north of the border.

:ROFL::screwy:

Haha have a look at the link in the original post.

if it is true, i got to get my male aussie water dragon at the reptile super show :-) lol this will also hurt the economy more, for the guys who only breed reptiles for a living and thats all they know, it will effect alot more then what you think,
