I use the nylon pot scrubbies ou can buy a lot of them for a little bit of $$$. Ghetto or not they are inexpensive and quite effective. I have them on all of my tanks.
 
potscrubbers are working out GREAT in my wet/dry setup on my 125G

Actually, my old minnow sump is still full of green plastic army soldiers and barrel-O-monkey pieces.
